Design Brief

AIM:
To identify and develop a new urban growth node for Coimbatore city.

OBJECTIVES:
 Study the LPA region of Coimbatore District on the basis of growth patterns and urban
rural continuum.
 Identify a region/area that has prospect to be a new growth node for Coimbatore city.
 Analyse the identified area to understand the character and factors that define the area.
 Identify strengths, issues and opportunities through analysis based on Kevin Lynch’s 5
elements.
 Conceptualize and develop a detailed Master Plan for a Eco-Neighborhood, keeping in
mind the needs and requirements of the present and the future.
 Design architectural interventions that respond to the demands and the context of the
proposed master plan.
