(3) To serve as a training document
(B) To Acquaint the staff about Hazards and Risk associated there of and suggest the means and
risk management procedures

II. SCOPE:

(A) The document explains the standard procedure for the

(1) To find % of Tri Sodium Phosphate (TSP) Chemical.
(2) To Prepare Standard Solution for Calibration/ Standardize and for test.
(B) The document explains the risks associated in acts and means to mange them.

III. PROCEDURE:

1 5 % AgNO3 Solution
(1) Take 5.0 gm AgNO3 powders Dissolve in D.M.water.
(2) Make the volume 100-ml with D.M.water.
(A) Methyl Red Indicator solution.
(1) Take 0.15 gm of Methyl Red powder dissolve in D.M.Water.
(2) Make the Volume 500 ml with D.M.Water.
(C) Benzyle Alchohol
(D) Standard 0.1 N NaoH (Glaxo Make)

(E) Method of Analysis.

(1) Weigh Accurately about 5 gm of the material in case of Dodecahydrate Grade and 2.5 gm of the material in case
of A Hydrous grade and dissolve it in D.M.Water.
(2) Filter off insoluble, if any and make up the filtrate and the washing to 250 ml in a volumetric flask.
(3) Transfer 25-ml aliquot of the solution prepared in 4.07.1 to a conical flask.
(4) Add sufficient silver nitrate (5 %) solution to precipitates all the phosphate, (35 to 40 ml are usually sufficient).
(5) Add 2 ml of Benzyl Alcohol to coagulate all the precipitate.
(6) Add 0.2 ml Methyl Red indicator.
(7) Triturate the liberated nitric acid with standard sodium hydroxide solution.
(8) The end point shall be from red to yellow.
(9) Note the burette Reading, Called (A)

(F) Calculation
(1) Phosphate (as P2O5), % by mass = A x 3.55 / Weight of Taken Sample.(5.0 gm or 2.5 gm)
