Graphic novels are an outstanding way to support our school reading goals, make
connections between self and text, and foster a joy of reading.
Graphic novel's support the way readers learn through sequential art which
relies on the readers ability to visually compare images and text between

information in a way that reflects their literacy needs! (Karp 35).
Graphic novels also support storying: an idera where readers feel connection and
personal immersion between themselves and the text through
-Compelling visuals
-Clearly outlined environments
-Features and characters that appear similar (Sturm 60).
