What is It
Force is either a push or a pull. It can be due to gravity,
magnetism, friction or anything that might cause an object to
move.
Force can change the shape, size or movement of an object:
The shape of an object changes when force is applied on it.
Pushing, pulling, pounding, compressing, bending, twisting,
tearing, stretching or squeezing are some ways of changing the
shape of an object.
Pushing- a force is exerted on someone or something with one’s
hand to move them away.
Pulling- force is exerted on someone or something toward
oneself.
Pounding-hitting or striking an object
Pressing- to flatten by pressure
Bending- to make something straight into curve or angle
Squeezing-firmly pressing an object using one’s fingers
Stretching-enables the soft or elastic object longer or wider
without breaking
Twisting-to form into a bent or curl or distorted shape
Tearing-a force is applied by breaking apart a material
Compressing-to press or squeeze together
When force is applied to an object, the size of an object may
change. Some situations where force is applied and changed the
size are the following: dropping a flower vase and pounding
