1. Introduction:

As a result of a push towards innovation and increased efficiency and profitability, more and
more law firms are turning to digital dairies. We proposed a project THE SMART LAWER for
the lawyer to manage their work digitally.

This project is to develop a web base application and as well as android application for Court
trails/Cases. End user / Lawyer can add new case of the client with all required details of the
case. End user can set case date on calendar to remind case date. Our system will notify end
user through dashboard about case date before two days.
End user can enter payments details of the case. End user can also upload documents for the
record of the case.

The Smart Lawyer is a web Application that will manage the entire activities for a Law Firm.
This is basically a Multi-level application.
More than one Lawyer can register here and manage their daily work, client case, court cases
and all Lawyer’s works.

Lawyer will create task for other one and can assign to them. After the work completed, the
assignee will set the status completed but till the assignor mark the task complete, the task
actual status will not change.

Case study will be uploaded by the lawyer as image, pdf, word or pdf format. Lawyer can
also set a NOTE for then and set the reminder so that no work can be miss and in time.

This application will be very secure so that no one can see other work. All platforms will
password protected.
The concept of THE SMART LAWYER is to control and management of legal cases or
matters.

2. Problem statement:

Lawyers are facing a lot of problems to save their clients record manually on files. It is quite
difficult and time taking to write down all client’s records case dates and payments details.
On the other end user are also facing problems in keeping their past cases records manually.
As this manual case record cannot be accessed 24/7 from everywhere until physically not
accessed. Mostly lawyer faced problem in the management of cases. Because they lost
documents damage document or forgot documents. Often, they forgot the client case date and
payment details of the case. These problems are very common which has been faced by
lawyers.
Now our proposed solution Smart Lawyer system will replace the traditional way of cases
system which can easily handle and maintain record in proper way.
3. Aims & Objectives:

 Solving the lawyer problems in the management of cases.

 End user can add new case of client with all documents of case.

 User can set date of case for reminder.

 Our systems will reminder case date of cases to lawyer through Dashboard.

 End user can add payments details of the case.

 All current cases will display in the system.

 Time efficient cases record management system.

 The cases are increasing and the demand of maintaining record of all the clients
through the systematic way and in a proper way is increasing day by day.

 The current cases system was developed but, in that system, there was many issues
like maintaining record was very difficult and difficult to handle cases record proper.
 The proposed Smart Lawyer system developed for the easiest way of maintaining
record.

4. Modules:

Following are the main modules.

• Add new Cases: This is the Add new case form here the user will enter all details of the
clients related to the case user will enter client name and then select the identity of the client.
User will enter the client contact, CNIC, and address. After user will enter the involve people
in client case. User will definitely know the client case type therefore user will also enter the
case type. In the end of form user will write their description related to the case.

• Add Case Payments: After the submission of case files lawyer will add case payment.
User will enter total payment of the case then user will enter the advance payment which has
been received from client. In mostly cases clients pay their case payments in installments
therefore user will also enter remaining payment dues of the case. User can also add the
payment date of the payment and at the end client will enter the payment remarks of the case
and description of the payment.

• Set Case date: End user can set case date on calendar to remind case date. Our system will
notify end user through dashboard about case date before two days.

• View of Date Notification: When user set date on calendar for notification the system will
notify user before two days of the case date. User will show case description case court
where the date has been announced and client name with their details.

• FBR TAX: In every country mostly, lawyers pay their tax therefore proposed The Smart
Lawyer system tax module developed for the easiest way of maintaining record of payment
with their tax on the basis of yearly income. Through this module user will know their yearly
cases and all their income and revenue. If user want to apply tax on minimum case the
system will apply tax on minimum cases otherwise system will apply tax on all yearly cases
which has been entered in system. The tax range will be applying on the yearly income of the
user. FBR tax range has been exist in the system module by this range of the tax on the
yearly income tax will be calculate and will be show to user.

5. Methodology:
 Agile Methodology

We will use the agile methodology for our project the purpose is:
 Agile method proposes incremental and iterative approach to software design
 The agile process is broken into individual models that designers work on
 Small projects can be implemented very quickly. For large projects, it is difficult to
estimate the development time.
 Error can be fixed in the middle of the project.
 Development process is iterative, and the project is executed in short (2-4) weeks
iterations. Planning is very less.
 Every iteration has its own testing phase. It allows implementing regression testing
every time new functions or logic are released.
 In agile testing when an iteration end, shippable features of the product is delivered to
the customer. New features are usable right after shipment. It is useful when you have
good contact with customers.
