1. Describe the shifts in the world economy over the past 30 years. What are the
implications of these shift for international businesses based in Great Britain? North
America? Hongkong
The shift within the world economy is seen over the past thirty years. the U.S.A. once dominated the
economy, world trade, and international businesses. once the 1960's there was a decrease in what the
US was importing/exporting though they still remained the leader. currently the globe was going in on
the action. port specially creates nice access to different countries therein region, proving to be ready to
complete with other nations. It can be explained that globalization was responsible for declines seen in
GB and also the US. once the markets began to open, those other than GB and also the U.S.A. took
notice. Hong Kong, whereas losing its “independence”, is perceived because the entryway to the vast
market of solid ground China. whereas the free market freedoms Hong Kong corporations have enjoyed
are currently less taken for granted, access to China is up along side the move towards a economic
system at intervals China. International businesses based mostly altogether 3 locations face new
opportunities and threats.
2.“The study of international business is fine if you are going to work in a large
multinational enterprise, but it has no relevance for individuals who are going to work in
small firms.”
We disagree with this statement since globalization is at its peak in today’s generation. Even small firms
can no longer ignore these happenings outside their borders, especially if they want to expand and grow.
What happens to one country may influence the rest of the world, so these firms must study it. The study
of international business can help the small firms understand the patterns in their targeted market on a
larger scale resulting in international opportunities. These opportunities can help small firms to reach
their full potency and upper hand over their competitors since they acknowledge the importance of
international business and its capacity.
3. Ultimately, the study of international business is no different from the study of domestic
business? Thus, there is no point in having a separate course on international business.”
Evaluate this statement.
Domestic Business and International Business are definitely different. Domestic business is conducted in
boundaries of one state wherein, we are mostly familiar with the transactions that are made because
most businesses are adjusted to our culture, values and lifestyle. Domestic business is operating their
business in one country and their sellers and buyers are belong in the same country. While International
Business is more diverse where the platform that was made by global standards, creating different
resources and consumers demand each state. International business is refers to the trading or
exchanging goods and services between to or more countries. Another reason why it is very important to
study International Business is the trade policy and legalities which the demand also different in each
states. And also international business helps your company or business to increase the profits.
