WIND ENERGY

LESSON OVERVIEW

Wind Energy- Students will explore the words power and energy in relation to the
work that moving air (wind) does. They will also understand that air takes up space.
Students will complete an experiment to demonstrate the force of moving air on
objects. They will practice measuring distance to analyze their predictions and results.

Students investigate the power of air as it moves.

Air Distance Cause and Effect: Air moves because it

through a straw). When air moves we can feel
it as wind.
Compare and Contrast: Wind pushes and

Living and Nonliving: Wind is air which is
nonliving and can move other non living
objects as it blows.
