TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Ihave known Carly Cormierfor the two years through my role as Deputy Head of Primary at the ‘Singapore School, Pantai Indah Kapuk (SIS PIK), Jakarta. Throughout this time, | always found Carly to be a thoughtful, considerate and responsible person who handled challenges in a calm and responsible manner. Carly is well respected by her peers and is always polite and sincere in her dealings with staff and students. During the past three years, at SIS PIK, Carly has taught in English to the Primary 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 levels. She has also held the role of Head of Department, English. She taught English using the Singapore Curriculum and implemented a school based program for the English as Second Language (ESL) students. Carly willingly took on extra duties and responsibilities through the school based after school activities program. She took up the challenge of teaching volleyball and art to students across the Primary school levels. She regularly demonstrated that she is flexible in her teaching and is a team player. ‘On numerous occasions, | observed Carly teaching. During these classroom visits it was obvious that Carly is passionate about the teaching of English. She is a confident, engaging and well organised teacher who plans and prepares units of work and lessons to suit the needs of the students. Carly quickly develops positive rapport with students through a mixture of mutual respect and a good sense of humour. Carly is committed to the success of the students whom she teaches and often provided lunchtime or after schoo! tutoring sessions. Throughout the year, Carly has been an active member of the organising teams for school wide events (school musical, olympic games, Celebration of Learning, national day celebrations). She worked with other members of staff to promote and implement these events. Carly regularly undertook professional development training with Heads of Department from other subject areas and schools. I have no hesitation in vouching for Carly’s character and | know she will rise to whatever challenge is presented to her in the future with the same responsible and positive outlook that | have seen. Yours sincerely, Lehn fare MacDermott Deputy Head Teacher, Primary Singapore School, Pantai Indah Kapuk. Jakarta, Indonesia.
