Subject: Notice of Correction of the published article on Issue No. 02. 2020
The MINA, an FDK Publication

Dear Ma’am/Sir:

We write in connection with the published article in your official paper, The Mina, an
FDK publication, specifically the article on page 8 of Issue No. 02. 2020.

The said article is a message from Dr. Lee Quijano Arboleda to the members of the
Filipino Dentists in The Kingdom (FDK) of Saudi Arabia expressing his gratitude for
the support to the association and wishing the incoming officers a good luck in their
term. We noted the following statements in his message:

“As-Salaam-Alaikum! Good Day Everyone. It has been my wish to have an organization

that would cater to the needs of our dental colleagues and fellow OFWs here in the
Kingdom. It was on July of 2011 in Riyadh KSA, the mother Organization – Filipino
Dentists in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (FDK) born. I was elected to lead the group
with the unified goal to render unconditional service to our fellowmen, not limited to
continuing education and free dental clinics.

I presided as chairman of the committee when the Constitution and By Laws was
structured dutring the second General Membership Meeting. xxx Due to the end of
work contract in Riyadh, my vice-president Dr. Odette Nazario took over for the rest
of my term.

xxx
Furthermore, in the lower left part of the article, there appeared the signature of Dr.
Arboleda together with his signature and a designation which reads “First FDK
President”.

However, please be informed that the aforementioned statements and designation as

written in the article are misleading. Dr. Arboleda was neither elected nor inducted as
the first FDK President. He likewise resigned from the organization on __________.

The first FDK President is __________ as certified by the FDK association, herewith
attached.
Thus, we are requesting that your good paper issue a statement and/or apology for the
said misleading article as it disseminated incorrect and misleading information to the
public.

We request that thorough verification of the facts in all articles should be made before
the same is published to avoid similar situations in the future.

We are hoping for an immediate action on the matter.

Thank you.
