1. What type of material that maybe can use as an construction? and write down the
advantage and disadvantage!

Answer :

1. Wood, Wood has been used as a building material for thousands of years, This
exceptionally versatile material is commonly used to build houses, shelters, boat,
etc.
 Advantage : It is relative lightweight and unlike steel, easy to cut, it’s also
easily to add decorative element to wood construction to increase curb appeal.
 Disadvantage : The disadvantages to wood construction include vulnerability
to water damage, fire, decay, and termites.

2. Concrete, Concrete is composite material composed of fine and coarse

aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement that hardens over time.
 Advantage : - Availability of concrete ingredients easily
- Easy handling and moulding of concrete into any shape.
 Disadvantage : Due to low tensile strength, concrete is required to be
reinforced to avoid cracks.

3. Bricks, A brick is a type of block used to build walls, pavements and other
elements in mansory construction.
 Advantage : - Hard and durable
- Compressive strength is good enough for ordinary construction
- Very low maintenance cost is required.
 Disadvantage : - Cannot be used in high seismic zones
- Time consuming construction
- Cleaning brick surfaces is a hard job.

4. Architectural Glass, Architectural glass is glass that is used as a building

material. It is most typically used as transparent glazing material in the building
envelope, including windows in the external walls.
 Advantage : Can be made in different sizes and object can be coloured and
colourless does not rust waterproof.
 Disadvantage : An expensive material breaks easily melts in high
temperatures when broken, the pieces may be sharp.
