 Write ‘family’ on board.
 Pupils brainstorm vocabulary for family members (from Y3 and
Pre-Lesson:
4). Write words on board as pupils say them. How many can
they remember?

 Direct pupils’ attention to Exercise A and tell them that they are
going to listen to a set of four instructions:
 Look at the family photo.
 Read the three text titles (a, b, c) in Exercise A.
 Choose one title.
 Read the text.
 Choose the correct answer.

Guess the meaning [Exercise B]


 Direct pupils’ attention to Exercise B and tell them that they are
going to complete the Venn diagram.
 Pupils sort the words into the relevant groups.
 Check the answers with class. [C.S.3.2.3]
