S4 VISUAL ARTS PAPER 1

VISUAL PRESENTATION OF A THEME


1:45 pm – 04:20 pm (2 hours and 15 minutes + 20 minutes for uploading)
Part A 1:45 pm – 02:30 pm (45 minutes + 10 minutes for uploading)
Part B 2:40 pm – 04:10 pm (1 hour and 30 minutes + 10 minutes for uploading)

Part A must be answered in English

INSTRUCTIONS

The paper consists of two questions. Attempt ONE question only. Complete
both Parts A and B of the question. Students should first complete Part A.

Part A: Art appreciation and Criticism (45 minutes)

Write a critical appreciation of the works of art provided. Write your


answer in the answer book provided, which will be collected 45 minutes
after the start of the examination. This section carries 20 marks.

Part B: Visual Arts making (1 hour and 30 minutes)

On the white cartridge paper (A3 size) provided, create a piece of


two-dimensional artwork using any medium, form, style and technique
to present a theme in response to the critical appreciation in Part A.
Write a creative brief with sketch, footnote or mind map on the bond
paper provided to explain how your idea is generated. This section
carries 80 marks.
