‘TECHNICAL ASSISTAN(
GENERAL INFORMATION
Parts Lists:
‘A pats lst forms the bass for manufacture of each individual machine a it contains a specification of all parts required to
make a complete machine,
Such a pars list will therefore, normally be issued for each machine or machine assembly. We distinguish between the
following types of part lists:
‘At Main parts lists:
‘These are parts lists containing al relevant information concerning one particular machine,
1B: Sub-parts lists:
‘Sub-pats Lists are standard parts lists referred to in main pars lists and generally comprising standard components for a
‘machine assembly included in the machine in question,
Examples:
E.g. Parts list No. 5.501550
‘This isa typical (A4) main parts list sheet and we would mention that the following information may be obtained from the
various columns on such a sheet:
‘Where the drawing column is filled in with a number this is referring to a drawing from which all necessary information will
appear. However, in certain cases there will in the column "Code-Dimension-Mamufacturer (pattern)" be stated some
«dimensions which then refer to a drawing with cither a table or open dimensions.
‘A pattern number, if any, for casting will also appear from this column. A pattern number always consists of two letters
followed by a figure, e.g. KD-2514.
C: Parts list drawing:
‘This is a sub pars list serving both as parts list and as assembly drawing being used only in case of simple components
consisting of relatively few parts.
‘The parts list drawing generally contains information similar to other parts list.
rains:
‘At the lower part of all drawings a reference regarding signs and symbols has been made to instruction manual No. 520530
‘which is our general workshop instructions containing supplementary comments to the information and specifications
appearing on the drawings.
Drawings with 7.000000 numbers show standard parts used in miscellaneous machines. These as well as certain other
«drawings and instructions (s A4) are not reproducible as transparencies.
All drawings forwarded will be registered in a lst of drawings which will be transmitted together with the drawings and the
‘accompanying letter (refer system explanation concerning these list).

If itis found necessary to make alterations or additions on parts list sheets and drawings already in your possession you will
receive prints of the revised edition.
Information about revision number (Rev. 1, Rev. 2 etc), details of the alteration(s)/addition(s) as well as the date on which
the revision(s) has/have been effected will be furnished in the column especially provided for this purpose on all parts lists
and drawings.
As soon as such revised editions are received we would, in order to avoid any mistakes, strongly advise you to
destroy or mark void" all old prints of identically numbered papers already in_your and your sub-suppliers
possession.
Material Specification Sheets:
In order to achieve uniformity inthe specification of materials required for manufacture ofthe various parts each individual
material is indicated by a code mumber in pars lists and drawings, eg. "Mat. 1100":
‘Each "Mat." number refers to a sheet from our material code. In these sheets various norms and standards are listed.
‘These norms/standards have been divided in two categories of which those first mentioned meets our requirements to the
‘material in question exactly and may be used straight away.
If for some reason it would be desirable to use norms of the second category or some which are not mentioned this would
have to be verified.
Material qualities for bolts, screws and nuts are indicated by the ISO standard designations.
‘Workshop instructions:
FLS "General Workshop Instructions" No, 520530 are FLS's basic standards for tolerances, surfaces, weldings, corrosion
proofing etc. and all parts are to be manufactured in accordance with these instructions.
Only in cases where other standards are specifically referred the above-mentioned instructions will not apply.
General Workshop Instructions No. 520530 (2002) together with List 7.000001 apply to all technical documentation issued
for manufacture of machinery.
Special Workshop Instructions are available for certain machines containing supplementary comments on the information
and specifications appearing in parts lists and on manufacturing drawings as well as in the General Workshop Instructions.
Such instructions may also describe certain manufacturing methods, tolerances, control methods etc., which it is advisable
1 follow during the execution of various components.
Corrosion Proofing:
‘To be effected in accordance with "GENERAL WORKSHOP INSTRUCTIONS' No. 520530 (2002), § 7, 8, 9 and 10.
For parts made of plate and sectional steel we normally recommend internal surfaces to be cleaned and painted according to
ur painting program No. 1, 2 or 4 whereas extemal surfaces are to be cleaned and painted according to our painting
program No. 3 or 5 etc.. Further information regarding our painting programs is available in "Table for Painting of FLS
Machines” on page 40 and 41 in above instructions.
In case of recommended deviations from the above as to corrosion proofing this will be mentioned in our covering letter
concerning the machine in question.F.LSmicth AS

Trial Assembly:
‘We recommend that all machines and components which are not forwarded assembled to site are trial assembled as far as
possible in the supplier's workshop in order to minimize problems with the final erection a site
Marking:
Prior to dispatch, all machine and machine parts should be properly marked with numbers thus making it possible to identify
them at site. For identification we suggest the application of FLS Ref. Order No. and the number on the parts list,
respectively drawing according o which the machine/-component has been manufactured,
If dismantling is required for dispatch itis advisable that the various components are clearly match-marked to facilitate
erection at site,
Packing of Machinery Goods:
Further to the above mentioned technical information we refer to our instruction No. 12951-08 for packing of machine
‘20ods and execution of packing.
‘This instruction gives you the typeof packing used by us in ease the parts are supplied by FLS.
