Main findings of the inspection

A. Working At Height Load men and helpers have to climb up fixing the slings to the
Containers when the cargo is being unloaded from the ship and loaded into the truck
Consequences: Slip or fall may occur causing

Recommendations
The following measures are recommended to avoid severity of the sequence
 Provide ladder to access
 Provide safety harness
 Train the employees who work at height
 Competent person should be employed when working at heights

Justifications: Falling from height will end serious injuries to the person or even Death

This causes huge insurance premium, slow down of work legal enquiry manpower
replacement huge financial loss and loss of reputations.

THIS IS SAID BY THE “ WORK AT HEIGHT REGULATIONS 2005 (REGULATION 5)”


B. Manual signalling A person is employed at the ground gives manual signal signal to

Consequences: Improper communication may lead to placing of cargo in wrong places,


cargo container colliding with trucks others container and even crushing of workers
