there are 256 more girls than boys, how many children are in a computer club? (5)

2. Alice and George shared a certain number of stamps. George received 48 stamps.
When he gave 28 stamps to Alice, the ratio of Alice’s stamps to George’s was 2:1.
how many stamps did Alice receive at first? (7)

3. A sum of money was shared between Andy and Shirley in the ratio 2:5. When
Shirley gave $60 to Andy, each of them had the same amount of money. How much
was the original sum of money? (7)
4. The ratio of Xiaoming’s eggs to Ruiming’s eggs was 7:3. When Xiaoming and
Ruiming sold 54 eggs, the ratio of the number of Xiaoming’s eggs to Ruiming’s was
3:1. Find the number of eggs each of them had at first. (8)

5. A company employs 30 workers. The ratio of the number of male workers to that of

prize. Betty’s share and Carol’s share was in the ratio 7:3.

7. The ratio of the number of pineapples that James, Malek, and Mrs. Lin had was
8:10:15 respectively. After James sold 25% of his pineapples and Malek sold 20% of
his, both of them had 280 pineapples left.

8. In a basket of apples, 60% of them were red and the rest were green. When Mrs
Teo took out 385 green apples, the ratio of the number of green apples to the
number of red apples was 1:4.
