Moss IB Learner Portfolio English A
Moss IB Learner Portfolio English A
What are your biggest concerns for this course over the
What should be in it? A collection of your work throughout the course. You should think of this as a journal that tracks your
growth as you respond to texts. Texts can be anything we have read in class or articles you have found of your own accord.
But how to respond to a text? Consider answering these questions when reading new material;
1. Whose views are being represented? And whose interests are served?
3.What reading position are you being invited to take up? Are we being asked to see the situation from a particular point of
view?
How do we set this up? As we are a Microsoft school here at WES, we will set up our work digitally and through the Managebac
system.
So, open your account, and follow the pics as a guide. You will find that a portfolio has already been made for each of you.
How will we use it in class?
As we work through our English A: Language and Literature textbook and additional materials, you complete a daily write up
on the texts and passages we have covered.
Using your notes from our classwork you will apply the guiding questions to help you analyse the text further.
We will also use the Managebac system as a means to share digital resources used, worksheets and articles that were printed
from a PDF.
It is your responsibility to maintain and populate your portfolio with tasks and written assignments. The portfolio will be
submitted to IB externally to ensure it has been completed as prescribed.
I will not give you feedback personally to tasks that you have included within it.
I will, however, offer assistance in its completion and suggestions for content you may wish to use.
