(1) What are the four examples of Web 2.0


- The four examples of Web 2.0 are blogs, social networking, wikis and video sharing sites.

(2) Who are the inventor/father of the internet and www?


- Vinton Gray Cerf and Bob Kahn are considered the fathers of the internet. While
Timothy John Berners-Lee was best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web.

(3) Give at least 6 uses of the internet.


- The internet can be used in different purposes, for entertainment we could play games,
watch or post videos, or download music and movies. We can also use the internet to
look for information, helping with school works and jobs, and communicate with our
loved ones via video call and chatting.

(4) Define web, web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0


- The World Wide Web, also known as the Web, is a subset of the internet consisting of
Web pages that can be accessed by a Web browser. It is also a larger collection of
interconnected documents or content. It contains hypertext links, or highlighted
keywords and images that lead to related information.

- Web 1.0 refers to the first stage of the World Wide Web evolution. It represents the
“read-only web”. In other words, the early web allowed us to search for information and
only read it. There was very little in the way of user interaction or content generation.

- Web 2.0 refers to world wide website which highlight the “read-write” web, where it
gives the users ability to contribute content and interact with other web users.

- Web 3.0 refers to the evolution of web utilization and interaction which includes
altering the Web into a database. After a long time of focus on the front-end, it enables
the upgradation of the back-end of the web. Instead of owning data, it is shared, where
services show different views for the same data/ same web. To illustrate, consider
semantic markup and web services.

- We have six different types of servers namely, application server, web server, proxy
server, mail server, file server and policy server.
