Abstract. Flood is an annual problem that is routinely faced by the Bima Regency
Government. Narrowing of river bedsriverbeds and / or channels due to sedimentation and
garbage has added to this threat. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of
floods, and the affected locations. Furthermore, the study also tried to and to obtain the results
of the analysis of the retention pond storage volume in the Padolo River, Rontu Cachtment
Area, Sumbawa River Basin. This research was started from by a preliminary survey regarding
the location of the flooding point and the placement of the retention pond. The analysis in this
study isare: i) Analysis of regional rainfall using polygon thiessenThiessen, ii) hydrological
modeling to obtain discharge using the Nakayasu method with a 25-year flood return based on
design rainfall in the selected distribution analysis, iii) Spatial analysis of rainfall using
software ArcGIS, iv) Analysis of flood tracking simulations with alternative retention ponds to
determine flood volume and flood reduction (Flood Routing), and v) Spatial analysis to
determine the water level profile and inundation area based on the discharge of various return
times Q2, Q5, Q10, Q25 , Q50, Q100 and Q200 use HEC RAS software.

The analysis results for segment 1 with a catchment area of 88,099 km2 and the length of the
main river 28 km, obtained R2, R5, R10, R25, R50, R100, R200, respectively, namely 87.15
mm, 109.55 mm, 122.26 mm, 136.47 mm, 145.96 mm , 154.68 mm and 162.80 mm.
Meanwhile, the flood flood discharge Q2, Q5, Q10, Q25, Q50, Q100, Q200 are 153.69 m3 / s,
193.19 m3 / s, 215.60 m3 / s, 240.65 m3 / s, 257.39 m3 / s, 272.77 m3 / s and 287.08 m3 / s.
The results of the analysis for segment 2 with flood discharge Q2, Q5, Q10, Q25, Q50, Q100,
Q200 are 104.34 m3 / s, 131.16 m3 / s, 146.37 m3 / s, 163.38 m3 / s, 174.74 m3 / s, 185.19
m3 / s and 194.90 m3 / s. The analysis results for segment 3 with flood discharge Q2, Q5, Q10,
Q25, Q50, Q100, Q200 are 132.80 m3 / s, 166.94 m3 / s, 186.30 m3 / s, 207.94 m3 / s, 222.41
m3 / s, 235.70 m3 / s and 248.07 m3 / s. Then the planned pool is a reservoir of 1 million m3
for each river segment.
