AND GLOBAL AFFAIRS – 2DAY AMBASSADOR 2021

DIPLOMACY PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST - INVITATION

Dear friends and partners, beloved students and teachers,

We send you our gratitude for participating in our diplomatic event - 2Day
Ambassador, 10th edition, held on February 9, 2021. We are always honored to have
you by our side and we take pride in having the chance to learn together from the best,
with great appreciation.

We look forward to the next session, on March 9, 2021, when we will continue to
discover the secrets of diplomacy, with equal curiosity, involvement and enthusiasm -
we will return shortly with details regarding the March session.

Meanwhile, we are happy to offer you information about the public speaking
competition on diplomacy topics that we announced. Traditionally, during the face
to face Conference, the public speaking contest on diplomacy topics is addressed to
the Laude-Reut students with their fellow students from other schools acting as
audience and jury.

But we are raising the challenge and invite you to become our competitors in
becoming the best ambassadors to represent countries of the world and may the
best ones win!

Rules of procedure / What to do:

- Attached to this letter you will find the list of participant schools to which a
country has been assigned.
- Let us know about your intention to participate in our challenge no later than
17th February 2021, by sending an e-mail to social.media@laude-reut.ro, on
behalf of your school.
- Create a team of students in your school and start elaborating a very
convincing speech IN ENGLISH regarding the Bilateral Relations of the

country assigned with Romania on Relevant Fields of Development

(Education, Economy, Science and Innovation etc.) via Cultural Diplomacy.

 - Choose one member of the team to create a 3-minute long video to present
the speech and have the video sent to social.media@laude-reut.ro no later
than 24th February 2021.
- The video will be analyzed by our public speaking and diplomacy teachers who
by the end of February will shortlist the candidates for the contest taking
place on 1st March 2021, online, starting 16.00 hours.
- 15 shortlisted candidates for high school and 10 for the 8th grade will
participate in the contest to hold their speech live. Out of them, after the vote
of all the students participating in the online event and with the validation of
the jury, 3 winners will be chosen and awarded for each level of study.
- On 9th March, with the occasion of the 2Day Ambassador online session, the
6 winners will present their winning speeches in front of the guests who are
professional diplomats and diplomacy mentors (ambassadors, ministers,
secretaries of state, experts, professors).

OF COURSE, for all these you have to work closely in your team, support your chosen
speaker and study a bit in order to issue and deliver the diplomatic speech.

Below are some guidelines to follow in the creation of your speech and attached a
short biography you can use for better understanding of the subject, but feel free to
access any other relevant sources you can find on the country assigned to your school.

In the pre-selection stage, the speeches will be analyzed according to the following
criteria:

1. Originality
2. Language and coherence of the message
3. Argumentative structure
4. Connections between ideas, values, events, people, characters etc.
5. Capacity for analysis and synthesis
6. Delivery of the message

 - End of February – shortlisted candidates will be communicated to you after
the pre-selection based on the 3-minute videos analyzed by the Laude-Reut
jury
- 1st March 2021, 16.00 hours, online – THE LIVE CONTEST for the shortlisted
candidates after the pre-selection
- 9th March 2021, 16.00 hours, online – the FINAL SESSION of the 2Day
Ambassador Conference 2021 during which the winners will present their
speeches live in front of diplomatic personalities.
