1. PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT:

This Site Safety Procedure describes the scope of work, Hierarchy of the team, Safety Measures
to perform the job and emergency contact numbers.

2. SCOPE OF WORK:

 Testing & Commissioning of 33kV MV – ZS1 Switchgear panels.

 Testing & Commissioning of 13.8 kV MV – Switchgear panels.
 Control cable termination between MV Swgr.
 Cable Laying for Switchgear Panel to SCADA.
 SCADA Panel commissioning.

4. SAFETY MEASURES:

JOB DESCRIPTION SAFETY MEASURES

 Installation of MV Switchgear
 Ensure proper access & work permit is
available to start the job
 Ensure no other work is going on in &
around the Switchgear room.
 Check the Fork lift inspection list and
confirm the driver’s competency & load
capacity of the Equipment.
 Always use provided transportation hook
only to lift the Switchgear.
 Use 2 Crow bars at a time to adjust the
Swgr position.
 Proper Torque wrench to be used to
ensure the bolt tightness.
 All the busbar covers to be properly
placed.
 Always Wear Mandatory PPEs.

 Testing of Switchgears  Ensure work permit is available to start

the job
 Ensure continuous AC Supply is available.
 Stick with Risk Assessment and follow
approved Method statements to perform
the testing.
 Confirm the equipment to be used for
testing have calibration certificate and in
good condition.
 Always apply equipment earthing.
 Use insulating gloves to connect,
disconnect & discharge.
 Always Wear Mandatory PPEs.

 Laying of Control Cable  Ensure proper access & work permit is

available to start the job
 Ensure no other work is going on in &
around the Cable Trench room.
 Properly measure the cable distance and
cut safely.
 Personals involving in cable laying and
pulling must wear proper hand gloves.
 Adequate lighting should be provided.
 Laid cables were tagged for reference.
 Cables must be covered by both sides by
insulation.
 Always Wear Mandatory PPEs.
