1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this software is to manage site cable laying. It has 2 aspects – first,
the cables already designed through cable schedule. It is a reconciliation package
between what is designed through cable schedule and how the cables are actually
laid at sites. So the actual laid parameters are updated against the designed
parameters of instruments. Second, those cables which have not been issued by
cable schedule, the design of those cables are done through this software. Also, the
IR values of the cables from junction boxes to control room can also be updated.

2. FEATURES

 This is a web based application.


 It is integrated with field bus cable and drum schedule and conventional cable
and drum schedule.
 This application include following module:

o Site Laid – Single Core / Spur Cable

3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENT

Internet Explorer 6.0 and above is required to run this application on machine and
Adobe Reader should be installed on the System to open the reports as it is in .pdf
format.

4. BRIEF SYSTEM DETAILS

This software takes Instrument Tags from field bus and conventional cable
schedule. Site Laid Cables, which are not issued by cable schedule, are also
designed.

5. OPERATING DETAILS
To access Site cable management software, user needs to type following URL in
web browser i.e. Internet Explorer.

http://instsite.eil.co.in/

Once URL is entered below screen appears asking user name and password.

User needs to enter user name and password of EILDC domain. After entering user
name and password click on Login button and below screen appears on successful
login.

Now user has to click on “Open project” link from the left menu to select a project
and unit to work upon.

Below screen appears after clicking on “Open Project” link.

In above screen once user selects a project to work upon; corresponding units get
populated in unit dropdown.

On clicking Select button below screen appears.

On clicking the “Import Design Data” link following screen appears where user can
import instrument tag information from recent revision number cable and drum
schedule.

User needs to click “Import Design Data” button to import instruments of recent
revision number from cable schedule.

Single Core / Spur Cable

On clicking the “Single Core/Spur Cable” link following screen appears where user
can update the actual site laid data of single core / spur cable against the designed
data issued by cable schedule.

In above screen user can see all the tags imported from cable schedule and their
properties.

Multi Core / Trunc Cable

On clicking the “Multi Core / Trunc Cable” link following screen appears where user
can update the actual site laid data against the designed data of multi core / Trunc
cable issued by cable schedule.

In above screen user needs to choose cabling method and then JB tag number. All
JBs imported from cable schedule having chosen cabling method and their
properties can be seen. User can update the site laid data of those JBs.

Package – Multi Core / Trunc Cable

On clicking the “Package – Multi Core / Trunc Cable” link following screen appears
where user can update the actual site laid data against the designed data of
package multi core / Trunc cable issued by cable schedule.

In above screen user needs to choose cabling method and then package tag
number.

User can see all the package details having chosen cabling method and package
tag number. On selecting one package detail, All JBs imported from cable schedule
having chosen package details can be seen. User can update the site laid data of
those JBs.

User needs to give JB tag number, Drum tag number and Cable length to create a
JB in the selected package. Number of runs, location, and package cabinet can also
be filled.

Site Laid Single Core / Spur Cable

On clicking the “Site Laid Single Core / Spur Cable” link following screen appears
where user can see instruments and properties which have not been designed by
Cable and Drum Schedule.

In above screen user needs to choose cabling method and then package tag
number. All instruments not issued by cable schedule having chosen cabling method
and package name can be seen. User can update the site laid information of the
instruments.

On clicking the “Add” button following screen appears where user can create a new
site laid cable from instrument to JB.

User needs to give instrument tag number, JB tag number to create a site laid cable.
Drum Tag number, JB segment number, JB terminal number, no of runs, cable
length can also be filled.

Site laid – Multi Core / Trunc Cable

On clicking the “Site Laid Multi Core / Trunc Cable” link following screen appears
where user can see JB tags and properties which have not been designed by Cable
and Drum Schedule.

In above screen user needs to choose cabling method and then package tag
number. All JBs not issued through cable schedule having chosen cabling method
and package name can be seen. User can update the site laid information of the
JBs.

On clicking the “Add” button following screen appears where user can create a new
site laid cable from JB to control room.

User needs to give JB tag number, Control room to create a site laid cable. Drum
Tag number, no of runs, cable length, termination cabinet code, JB location, cable
route can also be filled.

User can create a new site laid package by clicking “Add Package” button on the right
corner of the form.

Multi Core Cable – IR Details

On clicking the “Multi Core Cable – IR Details” link following screen appears
where user can see IR details of Multi core / Trunc cables issued by cable schedule
and drum schedule.

User can also update IR values.

Package Multi Core Cable – IR Details

On clicking the “Package Multi Core Cable – IR Details” link following screen
appears where user can see IR details of package Multi core / Trunc cables issued
by cable schedule and drum schedule.

User can also update IR values.

Site Laid Multi Core – IR Details

On clicking the “Site Laid Multi Core – IR Details” link following screen appears
where user can see IR details of Multi core / Trunc cables already laid at site, which
had not been issued by cable schedule.

User can also update IR values.

Reports

There is a separate left menu link for report, by which user can generate following types
of report.

 Single Core / Spur Cable Report


 Multi Core / Trunc Cable Report
 JB wise – IR Details Report
 Total Cable Summary Report

Single Core / Spur Cable Report

On clicking left menu link of “Single Core / Spur Cable” under report menu, below
screen appears.

In above screen, user needs to select the cabling type and click on “Generate
report” button to get the report.

Multi Core / Trunc Cable Report

On clicking left menu link of “Multi Core / Trunc Cable” under report menu, below
screen appears.

In above screen, user needs to select the cabling type and click on “Generate
report” button to get the report.

JB wise – IR Details Report

On clicking left menu link of “JB wise – IR Details” under report menu, below screen
appears.

In above screen, user needs to select the cabling type and click on “Generate
report” button to get the report.

Total Cable Summary Report


On clicking left menu link of “Total Cable Summary” under report menu, below
screen appears.

In above screen, user needs to select the cable type and package name and click
on “Generate report” button to get the report.

Please see ANNEXURE – A for report formats.

6. ERROR MESSAGES

Most of the screens have some mandatory fields (displaying red * sign against the
field) to fill in. User needs to fill/select all mandatory fields to perform any operation
else error messages would get displayed.
