Cambridge IGCSE™ Extension Training, Malaysia, 12-13 March 2020


Venue: Dwi Emas International School

Dear Delegates,

Thank you very much for your interest in Cambridge International’s upcoming IGCSE training sessions at
Dwi Emas International School on 12-13 March 2020. We look forward to welcoming you to our training
and hope that you’ll have a fruitful session ahead. Meanwhile, please find below some important details
with regards to the upcoming training:

Precautionary measures regarding COVID-19


Cambridge International and Dwi Emas International School will take the following precautions. At the
school entrance, your temperature will be taken either at the school gates or during registration, and you
will only be allowed to participate in the training if you do not have a fever (i.e. below 38 degrees Celsius).

If you have visited China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Italy or Iran in the past 30
days, please inform us ahead of the training and we will advise on the next steps accordingly. Please
note that you may be asked to withdraw from the training as entry is restricted for teachers and students
from these locations (in line with Ministry directive).

Kindly understand that the school has implemented these safeguards to protect the safety of the staff,
students as well as delegates attending the training. If you feel unwell on the day of the training and believe
you might be at risk/infected, we also ask that you withdraw/not attend out of consideration for your fellow
teachers and children at the school.

Registration & Welcome Address on Day 1 Morning


Registration starts at 8am at reception on the ground floor/school lobby. Upon registering with
Cambridge International, you will be issued with a name tag. For security purposes, please wear this name
tag throughout both days. Please check your names on the registration list as well and correct where
necessary before lunchtime on Day 1.

After registering, please proceed to the school cafeteria on the ground floor for the Welcome Address.
Morning coffee and tea is also available there. Please note that morning coffee and tea is not provided on
Day 2. After the Welcome Address, delegates will proceed to their respective classrooms for the training.

Security
Upon arriving at the school gates, please show the attached entry authorisation signage to the security
guard at the school entrance. Following which you may need to register at the guard house before entering
the school compound. Please wear the name tag issued by Cambridge International at all times.

The school has very strict security policies to ensure the safety and well-being of the children. Therefore,
delegates must not wander around the school on your own (in areas not related to our training) and please
do not engage the students in conversations. Please also do not take photographs of the children or
the school.

Parking
Basement parking is available at the school. You may choose to arrive after 8.00am to avoid the
congestion by parents dropping off their children at the school in the morning.

Classes
Training will be held on Level 2. You will be brought to your respective classrooms after the Welcome
Address in the cafeteria on the morning of Day 1.

Smoking is not allowed on the school campus.

Printed Materials
Cambridge will provide printed delegate packs for training delegates. They will be distributed in the
classroom. You do not need to download any materials for printing.

Please log in to your own account on the Booking Portal to download the softcopy of the materials. You will
need to log in using the email address that you registered for this training. If you have any issues logging
in, please contact info@cambridgeinternational.org.

Tea Breaks and Lunch


This will be held in the school cafeteria on the ground floor (same place as the Welcome Address on Day
1). The food selection includes vegetarian options.

During this period, publishers such as Cambridge University Press, Hodder, Collins and UBSM will also be
displaying their books within the same area on both days.

Water
We will only provide 1 bottle of water per day per delegate. We will place the water bottles in the
classroom. There are water dispensers throughout the school from which you may use to refill your bottles.

Prayer Facilities
With regards to Friday prayers, there is a mosque located approximately 10 minutes’ drive away from
school. Please make your own transport arrangements. On the school premises, the suraus are located on
the ground floor.

Certificates
Please note that all delegates will receive e-certificates (soft copies) after delegates have completed both
days of training. If you would like to change the name on the certificate, please log in to the booking system
and do so yourself before the end of Day 2 training. You can also correct your name during registration on
Day 1.

If you do not receive your e-certificate or if you have problems updating your name in the system, please
contact our Customer Service at info@cambridgeinternational.org or call them at +6015-48770052 (this is
a Malaysian phone number, so Malaysian schools will only incur the usual local telco charges).

School names do not appear on certificates.

Transportation
Please note that the host school and Cambridge will not be able to provide or arrange transportation for
delegates after the end of training sessions. Do organise these arrangements on your own. Some options
include:

1. Calling for a taxi (e.g. Comfort: +60380241296). For international delegates, ‘+60’ is the
international code for Malaysia
2. Booking a ride via Grab or any other e-hailing services - WIFI is available in the school.
