Dear Master,

Good Day,

Thanks for the update. I believe, you removed max ballast. Do not keep
excessive ballast to save energy. Additionally, there should not be any
ballast in adjacent space of cargo occupied tanks. If water is there, it will
be a rising tension to squeeze tanks after discharging at Kandla.

For stripping:

Make sure to recirculate cargo via heat exchanger with max allowable RPM
so that it will agitate deposited sludge in the tank top. Recirculation will be
effective when ullage is more i.e sounding 1.5 meter. You need to keep
discharge valve shut to recirculate cargo via heat exchanger.

Squeezing:

Make sure to measure CO in tanks. Reading more that 12.5 is not allowed
to make entry in the tank. Enclose space entry to be issued as well.

Wishing you a safe cargo handling ahead.

Dear Master,
Assalamualicum WRB,

Last time, the ship’s crew had a hard time to squeeze tanks (CPO) due to
heavy residues in the tank. Below was the mail I sent to all ships. As your
crew had been changed recently, discuss the content with crew to enable
smooth operation. If you believe that crew can not perform squeezing, let
charterer know at the earliest to arrange shore gang.

Quote:
Pls find the below for Veg oil trade specially Palm products,

In the voyage:

1. Recirculate all the occupied tanks with minimum 200 RPM daily for at
least 2 hours immediately after sailing from the load port. You are
advised to send a formal request to the charterer for this operation
as well.
2. Check tank's top by dipping sounding rod. Carefully listen if knocking
sound is audible. If not, recirculate tanks maintaining max
temperature for the voyage with full RPM.
3. All ballast tanks to be emptied in the loading port.
4. Do not take ballast during the voyage.
5. Do not take ballast until squeezing is completed and empty tank
certificate is received.

Discharging:

Pls be strict to the Ship shore agreement. Do not agree to discharge as per
shore’s plan if it is unsafe. Also, check your capacity to discharge or load
more than four pcl at a time. All timings to discharge ( If applicable) to be
agreed and complied with strictly.

Tank cleaning,
1. During tank cleaning, remove ballast from the side
tanks.
2. Do live steaming for 2 hrs before tank cleaning ( It
will remove max residues). Keep on stripping via
the underwater line while doing live steaming.
Steam to come out from all drains. Keep the
manifold V/V 2 to 3 % open. Make the blank flange
loose and drain steam slowly.
3. Live steaming via the manifold or pump stake is
advisable.
4. Do warm water washing for 1 hour ( Temp up to 50
deg cel). This will avoid white powder formation.

Then, follow usual cleaning by fix or portable machine i.e HW, Chemical
recirculation, SW cleaning (ambient), etc. For good cleaning, you need
to use the portable machines in various drop. All drops, drains, PV
valves, Butterworth hatch covers, Both sides of the manifold to be
flushed by hot SW water and FW.

Send me tank cleaning plan before the commencement of the operation.

Shall appreciate your kind support in this regard.

Thanks and Best regards
