HUMAN ANATOMY VOCABULARY

GASTROCNEMIUS= The chief muscle of the calf of the leg, which flexes the knee and foot.

Muscle of the body that helps you to be able to flex the leg.
Body part
QUADRICEPS =ls one of the largest muscles in your body. It includes the four prevailing
muscles on the front of the thigh. It helps you extend your leg at the knee joint and to flex the
thigh at the hip joint.

This is a muscle that helps us the most and is one of the largest this muscle helps a lot when
stretching the leg.
HAMSTRINGS = is one of the largest muscles in your body. Is one of the three posterior thigh
muscles in between the hip and the knees. It helps you extend the hip and flex your knee.

This muscle gives us a great help to be able to flex our knee


DELTOID = Is the muscle forming the rounded contour of the human shoulder. It helps you
move your shoulders.
This muscle helps us to be able to move the shoulder and makes the shape of the shoulder
rounded.
TRICEPS = Is a large muscle on the back of the upper arms. Is the muscle principally
responsible for extension of the elbow (straightening of the arm)

This muscle is a great help in straightening the arm.


BICEPS= A large muscle in the upper arm which turns the hand to facepalm uppermost and
flexes the arm and forearm.

This muscle helps to flex the arm and the forearm is one of the most helpful to the arm.
