Was part of the ‘WRITE A SCRIPT IN ONE HOUR’ exercise in my school.

INT. CHAD’S BEDROOM – DAY

A simply bedroom with the basic requirements. CHAD RICHARDS(15) sits on

the computer desk, tapping rapidly on the keyboard.

COMPUTER
You have three new messages.

CHAD
Awesome.

COMPUTER SCREEN

Three e-mails. They are titled BUY STUFF CHEAP, GET THAT MORTGAGE NOW,
and READ THIS! PLEASE! READ IT QUICKLY!

BACK TO SCENE

CHAD (TO HIMSELF)

Rubbish. Nope. Mortgage, maybe
later. Hey what’s this?

Chad clicks the mouse button.

CHAD (READING)
Send this to fifteen-people in one
week and you will get your hearts
desire. If you don’t, you will get
haunted by your darkest fears for
the rest of your life. Right. Okay.
Bye.

Chad gets up and leaves the room.

INT. HIGH SCHOOL – DAY

CAPTION: THE NEXT DAY

Chad walks with two other boys, TYLER(15) and GUY(15).

TYLER
Did you revise for the test?

CHAD
Nope.
 TYLER
What do you mean Nope? That’s like,
one of the most important tests of
the year!

CHAD
I’ll get the same grade even if I
did revise.

GUY
You’re gonna get busted by the
teachers.

TYLER
AND your parents.

CHAD
C’mon. It’s not like I don’t know
the stuff already.

Suddenly, everything around Chad turns completely black. Everyone

disappears. Obviously, he is not in school anymore. He is in utter
darkness.

CHAD
What the hell? What’s going on?

He looks around himself.

CHAD
Hello? Oh my god, what is this?
(panicking now)
Hello? Hello?! HELLO?! SOMEONE
FUCKING ANSWER ME!

In a split second he is back in the school.

TYLER
Chad?

Tyler pokes him on the arm. Chad wakes up from his daze.

CHAD
Huh? Yeah?

TYLER
Something wrong?

CHAD
Oh. No. Just daydreaming.

TYLER
Whatever.

INT. MATH CLASS- DAY

The teacher picks each test paper from the desks. He passes Chad, who
has his head in his hands?

INT. LOCKERS – DAY

Chad stands outside the lockers. Guy runs up to him.

GUY (PANTING
SLIGHTLY)
Hey man. What’s up? You looked
terrible in math?

CHAD
It’s nothing.

GUY
You sure? That test didn’t get to
you?

CHAD
No nothing like that. It’s just
that… I’ve just got a splitting
headache.

Chad turns the combination dial of his locker.

GUY
I hope you’re okay man, it’s just
like –

Chad opens the locker.

LOCKER

All kinds of bugs and insects crawl around, covering the entire locker.

BACK TO SCENE

Chad screams back in fright.

GUY
Chad?!

He looks at Guy. He pants heavily. He looks back into the locker.

LOCKER

Nothing. Just a pile of books.

BACK TO SCENE

Chad now looks bewildered.

GUY
Oh my god man, are you okay?
 CHAD
Yeah. Yeah, I’m okay.

EXT. SIDEWALK – DAY

Chad walks along the sidewalk alone. A quiet maniac laugh can be heard
for a few seconds. Chad looks around, then continues to walk. As he
reaches some bushes, the laughing starts again getting louder. Chad
looks and turns around – freaked out.

VOICE (O.S)
Chad...

He stops. He looks around. He begins to get near to the bushes. As he

reaches the bushes with his hands, a head suddenly sticks out. A clown’s
head.

CLOWN
CHAD!!!!

Chad drops his books and runs off, screaming.

INT. CITY – DAY

Chad continues running in the city. Sweat pours down his face. He stops
and looks around. Every single people he sees are dressed as clowns, all
looking at him.

EVERYONE
CHAD!

INT. RICHARDS HOUSEHOLD – DAY

Chad walks in the house.

CHAD
Mom? Dad?

A black liquid then begins to pour down from all the walls.

CHAD
Shit!

INT. CHAD’S BEDROOM – DAY

Chad runs into his bedroom. The black substance begins to crawl on the
roof and floor. He looks around in terror. He notices the computer. The
chain letter e-mail is still on, waiting.

Chad runs for the computer. He types and clicks extremely fast.

CHAD
IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?

COMPUTER SCREEN

The mouse cursor hits the SEND button.

BACK TO SCENE

The black substance almost surrounds everything now. It begins to crawl

on Chad’s skin before –

INT. CHAD’S BEDROOM – DAY (NEXT)

Chad suddenly wakes up in his bed. He gets up and looks around.

CHAD
Oh. It was just a dream. Thank god.

He notices the computer again. The ‘MESSAGE SENT’ box is seen in the
middle.

INT. TYLERS BEDROOM – DAY

Tyler is now also on his computer.

COMPUTER
You have one new message.

COMPUTER SCREEN

An e-mail with the title ‘READ THIS! PLEASE! READ IT QUICKLY!’ is seen.
