Parents are equal partners in their child's education and IEP process
Know the process of an IEP: goal setting, strategies, goal assessments and
evaluations

Ask questions - IEP meetings are not a place to resolve conflicts
Focus on your child's strength and springboard from a positive note into their needs
Take time to write down goals and strategies discussed to avoid confusion
Stay focused on the outcomes and positive communications
Discuss options honestly, listen openly, work collaboratively toward the best decisions for your
child
