Environmental protection
The additive is mixed only at the time of use.
The water can be discharged during mainte-
nance operations without affecting the environ-
ment.
Additive doses which have been used or
reached their expiry date can be recovered for
recycling.
Dependable, secure operation
The extinguisher is pressurised progressively,
with no impacts or shocks, ensuring that the ad-
ditive is mixed uniformly with the water.
Easy of maintenance
When the dose reaches its expiry date it can be
easily unscrewed and replaced without special
tools.
These extinguishers only need preventive re-
loading every 5 years instead of every 3 for pre-
mix models.

WATER SPRAY WITH SEPARATE ADDITIVE
Desautel S.A.S. has developed a new range of 6 and 9-litre extinguishers containing
additives mixed at the time of use.
The design and production of this extinguisher are in line with the environmental
policy of our ISO 14001 certified plant.
PROPERTIES
Cooling action
This is caused by the division of water into tiny droplets which vaporize upon contact
with the fire source, absorbing a maximum amount of heat energy and thus provid-
ing the best possible cooling.
Specific actions of AFFF additive (agent forming a floating film)
The additive increases the wetting power of the water, makes it penetrate further
and considerably reduces its surface tension.
It forms a highly mobile watertight film which reforms immediately when the sur-
face is disturbed. The film is impermeable to inflammable liquid vapour dis-
charges and prevents re-ignition.
Use in the presence of an electrical source
There is no danger: the fact that the water is reduced to a fine droplet spray pre-
vents it and the additive from conducting electricity at voltages less than 1000 V.
EFFICIENCY
Class A
Water spray with additive is particularly suited to solid material fires, which are gen-
erally organic in nature and normally generate embers: paper, wood, straw, fabrics,
textile fibres, etc. It is currently the most widely used extinguisher in offices, admin-
istrative buildings, schools and colleges, museums, hospitals, farms, etc.
Class B
Water spray with additive has an excellent extinguishing capacity on liquid or liq-
uefiable solid fires: hydrocarbons, heptane, solvents, paint, etc.
EASY TO USE
Operation
Once the safety pin has been removed, press the striking handle to pressurise the
extinguisher. The flow rate is controlled by the spray gun on the nozzle. The fact
that it is so simple to use means that risks of incorrect use are greatly reduced.
Pressurisation during use
Striking the internal cartridge releases the propellant (CO2), pressurises the body
and thus causes the foam to be discharged. The cartridge is interchangeable and
its level can be checked accurately by weighing, meaning that the extinguisher can
be refilled on site, without having to send it back to the factory. Both preventive
and corrective maintenance can therefore be carried out in optimum conditions.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
This extinguisher was designed using highly reliable materials and the latest anti-
corrosion protection technologies in order to be ideally suited to industrial environ-
ment requirements.
It complies with European standard EN 3 and is one of the highest performance de-
vices in its category.

CHARACTERISTICS
BODY
This is made from high quality sheet steel, in the form of a barrel and two dishes.
Thickness 2.0 mm. Surface finished by internal and external shot blasting after hy-
draulic test.

Internal protection: epoxy powder polymerised at 200°C.

External protection: two thermoset coats, one zinc epoxy primer coat, one red poly-
ester powder finish coat, all polymerised at 200°C.

OPERATING DEVICE
Fully metallic, black corrosion-resistant electrocoated finish. Striking handle with er-
gonomic covering. Lead-sealed safety pin preventing untimely use.

DELIVERY DEVICE
Comprising rotating coupling, hose, ergonomic spray gun and insulating polyamide
spray nozzle. Total length 1020 mm.

EXTINGUISHING AGENT
Water + high performance AFFF additive - 9 L.

PROPELLANT GAS
60 g CO2 cartridge.

BRACKET
Wall-mounting type.
