General description Comp on = compressor running

DEI 107J is a microprocessor based controller suitable for medium or low Comp flashing = delay protection
temperature refrigeration control. It has 3 relay outputs to control
compressor fan and defrost, which can be electric or hot gas. Two NTC
temperature probes are supplied for thermostatic control and for
Defr on = defrost active
evaporator defrost control
Fan on = Evaporator fans running
Functions
Fan flashing = drip time fan delay
Compressor

The regulation is performed according to the temperature measured by How to see setpoint
the indoor probe (white plug). As temperature increases at reaches set
point + differential and the compressor is started. As temperature Press for three seconds or
decreases and reaches set point the compressor swill switch off. Visual Press for three seconds and then vew tS value
indication on the display shows when compressor relay is engaged. This SET
indicator flashes during a delay, such as avoiding short cycling Set point can be changed by viewing and then pushing or
buttons to raise or lower the set point
Defrost
How to change differential td
The defrost mode can be selected for: electric heater or hot gas. For
medium temp application an “off cycle” defrost can be utilised where Press SET for three seconds and then view td value push
defrost will occur when compressor is off
Or to raise or lower the differential
Defrost is interval timed and this is adjustable by user. Defrost probe will
end the period of defrosting or by interval period Defrost has visual
indication on display Buzzer mute Press to silence alarm buzzer

Fan control (Evaporator indoor)

The fan control is configurable to run only with compressor or to run Other parameters
continuously. Adjustable drip time is a feature designed to allow ice/water
extra time to be removed from evaporator. Fan motor has high temp stop df =Defrost interval set range 0-99 hours. Time between defrosts
point as a safety feature preventing circulation of warm air
dt = defrost period set range 1-55 minutes. Length of defrost but this can
be over ridden by defrost probe indicating that frost is clear
AU = Maximum temperature alarm range AL1-70 °C. High Temp alarm ALARM CODES
AL = Minimum temperature alarm range -40 °C– AU1. Low Temp alarm UA = high temperature alarm
HS Max set point range tS – 60°C. To limit the maximum set point LA = low temperature alarm
LS Min set point range -40°C –tS. To limit the minimum set point tA = controller overheat >95 °C
Ad Alarm delay range 0-60 minutes. Delay before alarm activates E1 = room probe failure
AC Compressor short cycle protection range 0-30 minutes. Stops E2 = defrost coil probe failure
compressor stop starting excessively
E3 = controller PC board error – try reboot
Cr Compressor run time in event of probe failure range 0-60 minutes.
Compressor will run for this timed period with no input to avoid thawing EE = Eprom memory failure – try reboot
of product

CS Compressor stop time in event of probe failure range 0-60 minutes.

Compressor will cycle off after this period of time with no input to avoid
freezing product

 Alarm output = built in buzzer

Problem solver

 Remove power from controller

 E1 or E2 check probe connections, clean plug in terminals
 Probes can be extended to 100m but should have good
watertight connections, recalibration may be required for long
extension
 LA alarm = excessive temperature, allow controller to cool
down and relocate or ventilate to keep cool
 Relay failure = check full load amperage of output to ensure
that it is below ratings on controller
 Defrost will not start = check coil temperature
 Fan will not start = check coil temperature
