Question:1 Start the Wirshark on your computer system and capture packets for some
time. You can start some applications on your system so that there are more numbers of
packets captured. Filter out the TCP packets. Select any one TCP packet in which your
system is a sender. Take the screenshot of that TCP packet, insert it in the answer and
discuss all the fields of that particular packet in detail.

Question:2 Start the Wirshark on your computer system and capture packets for some
time. You can start some applications on your system so that there are more numbers of
packets captured. Filter out the UDP packets. Select any one UDP packet. Take the
screenshot of that UDP packet, insert it in the answer and discuss all the fields of that
particular packet in detail.

Question:3 Start the Wirshark on your computer system and capture packets for some
time. You can start some applications on your system so that there are more numbers of
packets captured. Filter out the IP packets. Select any one IP packet in which your system
is a receiver. Take the screenshot of that IP packet, insert it in the answer and discuss all
the fields of that particular packet in detail.

Question:4 Consider the figure given below. Use Cisco Packet Tracer to simulate the
network of networks given in the figure. Use the classfull address to assign IP address
each of the nodes. Also configure the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) between
routers. Check the configuration by sending packets from PC- F to PC-C.

VIT University | 2
A. Annotate IP address for each of the node in the network. Also, annotate the Subnet
and mask assigned to each of the network. Capture the screenshots: (i) after
configuring the networks and (ii) while packet is transmitting from one PC to another
PC. Include both the screenshots in the answer sheet and submit it on VTOP.

B. Now delete the link between Router R3 and Router R4. Capture the screenshot and
include it in your answer and submit it on VTOP. Are packets still getting transmitted
from PC-F to PC-C. If yes, please mention the path.

C. Save the Cisco Packet Tracer file (extension .pkt) and upload it on TEAMS under
Assignment named LAB-FAT.

Question:5 Consider the figure given below. Use Cisco Packet Tracer to simulate the
network of networks given in the figure. Use the classfull address to assign IP address
each of the nodes. Also configure the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) between
routers. Check the configuration by sending packets from PC-F to PC-A.

network of networks given in the figure. Use the classfull address to assign IP address
each of the nodes. Also configure the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) between
routers. Check the configuration by sending packets from PC-B to PC-E.
