Rizal: National Hero

“Pen is mightier than the sword.” This is the first thing that always enter in my mind when
I or someone is talking about Rizal. A national hero is someone that who made significant
positive contributions to the growth and development of society and especially, someone that
will represents all of us. This is why Dr. Jose P. Rizal is our national hero but some Filipinos are
in doubt that others are deserving more than him. And this is why I am here to give you
reasonable explanations of why Rizal is declared the national hero and not Bonifacio, Mabini
and etc.

First and foremost, we must redefine the term "national hero" in order to comprehend
how Rizal came to be one. Goodness is represented by a national hero. By using goodness,
Rizal gave us independence. Since he fought for independence in a quiet but strong manner,
Jose Rizal became the Philippine national hero. Rather than using force or violence to convey
his affection for the Philippines, he wrote novels, essays, and documents.

Second to that, Rizal was able to change the way the Filipinos think through his works.
Another reason Jose Rizal is the Philippines' national hero is because of this. He was able to
stir the people's inner spirit without making rousing speeches or bold statements. He illustrated
that injustice can be resolved without killing another human. He also showed how the pen can
be more effective than the sword. He also explained how to affect change without resorting to
violence.

In other respects, Rizal was distinct from the other revolutionaries. He didn't just want
people to be free. He was looking for improvements. He wanted to demonstrate how necessary
it was for the Philippines to be civilized through his works. Jose Rizal is the Philippines' national
hero because he aimed for more than just overthrowing the Spaniards. He was concerned
about the country's long-term future.

Lastly, Rizal was a brave and courageous man, despite the fact that he lacked weapons.
He used his pen to show the Spanish authorities' hypocrisy. And when the authorities
threatened him with execution, he was unfazed. His written works eventually cost him his life.
He realized, however, that his death would not be in vain. It was a noble sacrifice, a soul for a
soul. Specifically, a mortal soul for the country’s soul. It was a thought that would linger in the
minds of all men. Rizal's death will only be in the physical sense as long as the ideal burned in
his bones. He was present in every person's spirit.

Clearly, this will some of the reasonable explanations why Rizal was our national hero
compared to the aforementioned heroes in the question. He is a bright and brave Filipino who
fought without shedding a blood to others. And sacrificed himself for the sake of the country’s
future. Always remember and to honor him for the actions that he made for our country and to
the heroes who sacrificed their life for our freedom. Do not let their live be in vain, be strong. Be
like Rizal.
