Why I Think Phones Should be Allowed in School.

I think cell phones should be allowed in school, for SOME ages. Don't
give an 8 year old a phone! I think they should be allowed for 4th grade
and up. Here are a few reasons.

Reason 1.
They are great for breaks! You can text a friend, reply to messages, say
hi to your parents, watch a little video during breaks, or other things!

Reason 2.
If students are using them too much you can take them or have a rule
that if you have a phone in class it must be visible on the desk, so the
teacher can see if you are using it or not. They can also check if you are
doing something important like texting a parent if they ask something,
or checking the time, but the teacher can tell if you are watching
youtube or something.

Reason 3.
In case there is an emergency at school, you must keep in touch with
parents/guardians so they know you are ok! Or what if something bad
happens at home! Are your pets okay? Are your parents or family okay?
You need to be able to talk. Your guardian should NOT have to wait 2 ½
hours to tell you if something bad happened!

Reason 4.
You don't need the newest phone to do the only necessary things. All
you really NEED is messages, calls, and the occasional game. It could be
the newest apple phone, an old samsung, or even an old flip phone! All
that really matters is that you're in touch with your guardians, or 911.

Reason 5.
We would not get jealous of people with phones if we have been living
like this for years.

So there are all my reasons. Another reason why cell phones should
only be allowed for grades 4 and up, is I think k-3rd graders are not
responsible enough to get phones.

Conclusion:
I think only 9+ kids should get cell phones, but don't just give them a
name brand for nothing. If they pay, if its Christmas or a Holiday, If they
work hard, if it's their Birthday or if they do chores, that's a good
situation to get your child a phone. If you just give an ungrateful 7 year
old an apple iphone, they will never learn that they have to work for
expensive things like that, and they will be unappreciative when they
grow up. Wait till they are a good age. If they are hard working and
behaved, they will be more than grateful for a phone!

What i'm trying to say is that; age+work+ good reasons= a fair chance of
a nice phone!
