i. medially : scapula beyond margins of labrum & supraglenoid tubercle
ii. laterally : anatomical neck of humerus
1. except
a. inferiorly attachment extends down to surgical neck
b. superiorly deficient for passage of tendon of long head of biceps
brachii
iii. anteriorly : reinforced by sup., middle, inf. glenohumeral lig.
2. coracohumeral lig.
a. extends from
i. root of coracoid process
ii. to neck of humerus
iii. opposite greater tubercle
b. gives strength to capsule
3. transverse humeral lig.
4. glenoidal labrum
a. fibrocartilaginous rim
i. covering margins of glenoid cavity
b. increase depth of cavity
