CANNABIS AND ITS DIFFERENT USES

HEMP ALTERNATIVES

Despite the fact that the prohibition of Cannabis since 1961 has hindered the
investigation of Cannabis, over the years and multiple investigations by prestigious
laboratories, universities and medical groups, have managed to identify that the
plant has high beneficial properties for use. industrial and especially for medical
uses.

This is how we can highlight the use of medicinal cannabis for the treatment of
diseases such as:

• Glaucoma.
• Epileptic seizures.
• Cancer.
• The anxiety.
• Reduces the progress of Alzheimer's disease.
• Relieves the pain of multiple sclerosis.
• Possibly relieves other types of muscle spasm.
• Decreases the side effects of hepatitis C treatment and increases the
effectiveness of the treatment.
• Treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn's disease.
• Arthritic discomfort.
• Tremors in people with Parkinson's disease.
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
• Helps protect the brain after a stroke.
• Eliminate nightmares.
• Relieves nausea from chemotherapy and stimulates appetite.
• Helps reduce alcohol consumption.

POTENTIAL IN HEMP

As the hemp industry has made great strides in recent years, hemp offers a wide
variety of benefits, most notably medical and industrial applications, as it is used
for fabric manufacturing and offers a sustainable alternative to the hemp industry.
building.

SIMILARLY, HEMP OFFERS BENEFITS FOR CULTIVATION

• It improves soil structure

• It works as a good biological regimen for farmers; no chemicals are
needed.
• Protects the soil against erosion
• It is an ideal rotation crop
• Prevents deforestation, hemp can substitute wood products.

Thanks to the fact that hemp, if properly processed, can be a high-yield crop, even
though the price of hemp is constantly changing and with a negative trend in recent
years, like many other elements of the Cannabis, this since the offer has increased
considerably but while still being considerably more profitable than various
traditional crops.

Hemp seeds are an important food resource, they are rich in antioxidants, fiber,
protein and heart-healthy fats. These have been used for thousands of years in
Eastern culture to treat different disorders, hemp oil is considered a good protein
source with the ability to improve the overall health of those who consume it.

Its contribution of healthy fats, especially omega 3 fatty acids and gamma Linoleic
acid, make these seeds a powerful anti-inflammatory that promotes cardiovascular
health. They also contain Arginine, an amino acid that turns into nitric oxide, this
substance causes the blood vessels dilate, which improves blood flow.

About 25% of the calories in these small seeds come from good quality protein and
excellent digestibility, therefore they are considered one of the best plant-based
protein sources.

CANNABIDIOL
As for Cannabidiol from Hemp known as CBD, it is interesting to note that it has
been shown to be effective in treating some diseases and health problems. As a
result, the CBD market has grown exponentially in recent years, accompanied by a
large advertising rollout. CBD is derived from hemp plants with a high percentage
of CBD.

Most of the industrial hemp in Europe was destined for the fiber and seed oil
markets. The list of approved European hemp varieties, currently running at more
than 50, does not contain a cultivated strain for CBD.

We must be precise in explaining that hemp is the same for CBD and THC, the
above are the two main components of Cannabis, the difference is in the
concentration of THC present in the plant, where we find plants that are planted
exclusively for the purpose of obtain a high percentage of THC, others a high
percentage of CBD and in the case of industrial hemp, sometimes it is not
expected to obtain significant amounts of either. In this way, even if the plant is
cultivated in order to produce THC or CBD, we can always obtain an industrial use
of Hemp.

HEMP CONSTRUCTION

Can be used for everything from animal litters to car interiors, 'hempcrete'
construction (a combination of hemp and natural lime) results in truly green
construction and a healthy CO2-absorbing environment.

The market for Hemp used in biocomposites for elements in car interiors and has
demonstrated its stability. Companies like Audi, BMW, Mercedes and some of the
French automakers use biocomposites inside their mid-range and luxury vehicles.
Some contain up to 25 kilos of hemp fiber. They are competitive with traditional
plastics and have obvious environmental benefits.
As we can see in the previous graph, despite the fact that prices in the market
have weakened, the industry continues to boom, being profitable and projected
with great expectations.

I must point out that this is the expected scenario only in the United States, but
worldwide expectations are even higher.

CBG ALTERNATIVE

Sometimes, the secondary molecules are the ones that cause the greatest impact.
This appears to be the case for CBG - the "first" cannabinoid that develops in
cannabis plants. In fact, this seemingly insignificant cannabinoid is responsible for
the creation of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids, attracting the attention of
scientists and consumers around the world.

CBG is usually present in concentrations below 1% in most hemp strains, so it is

not surprising that it has not received as much attention as other compounds.

CBG, or cannabigerol, is a phytocannabinoid. Unlike endocannabinoids, produced

by the body itself, phytocannabinoids are extracted from plants like cannabis. CBG
is what we consider a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, that is, it does not produce a
hallucinogenic effect.

But in fact, CBG (or, rather, its acidic form CBGA) is the first cannabinoid acid that
develops in cannabis plants. As such, it is sometimes called the "stem cell" of
cannabis. It is present in high concentrations in flowering cannabis plants. Its acidic
form is simply CBG with an additional carboxyl group - the "A".

As plants grow, enzymes convert CBGA to THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid),

CBDA (cannabidiolic acid), or CBCA (cannabichromanic acid). After harvesting,
plants are usually dried and processed. The heat or UV light used in these
scenarios breaks down these acidic cannabinoids into their non-acidic equivalents,
such as THC, CBD, and CBC. This phenomenon is called decarboxylation: the
removal of a carboxyl group, the more THC or CBD a plant sample contains, the
less CBG it will have.

CBG EFFECTS

CBG has been shown to increase appetite, in two studies in rats by researchers at
the University of Reading (UK) in 2016 and 2017. Some studies also suggest that
CBG may inhibit the growth of some tumors, while other Studies show that it could
have neuroprotective effects. A 2014 study published in the medical journal Plops
One also claims that some CBG-derived products may suppress the body's
immune response.

When GABA absorption is inhibited, muscle relaxation and anxiolytic effects

actually do occur, so CBG promotes effects similar to CBD. It also appears to have
antidepressant properties and some slight antifungal properties.

WHAT DOES CBG COST PER KILO

Currently CBG is one of the most expensive cannabinoids due to the high-demand,
low-supply issue. While the price may vary from supplier to supplier, the average
cost appears to be about $30,000 – $50,000 per kilo. But according to a
recent Forbes article, as CBG becomes more widely available in the market, the
price will inevitably drop. In the article, Derek Du Chesne, Chief Growth Officer
at EcoGen Laboratories noted that CBD isolate used to sell for $20,000 per kilo
and now it sells for $2,000 per kilo.

ALTERNATIVA DE CBC

Cannabichromene (CBC) is the third most important cannabinoid, but not much is
known about it. What is known is that it appears to play a key role in neurogenesis
and in reducing pain and inflammation.

CBC interacts directly with CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body and brain.
However, it also works with other receptors, specifically TRPA1 and TRPV1. [1]
These channels, like the endocannabinoid system made up of cannabinoid
receptors, connect throughout the body. They play a critical role in transmitting
pain and inflammation signals sent to other parts of the body

Cannabichromeneic acid, or CBCA, is the mother molecule of CBC and one of the
three primary cannabinoids formed from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). CBGA is one
of the first cannabinoids produced by cannabis plants and, over time, is broken
down by specific enzymes to form THCA, CBDA, and CBCA. Later, when cannabis
is exposed to heat and ultraviolet light during drying, curing, and the smoking /
vaporizing / cooking processes, CBCA breaks down into CBC, CBL, and CBLA.

To date, there is little research that has specifically looked at the effects of CBCA
on the body and it was thought to have no therapeutic properties of its own. Today,
scientists believe that CBCA could exert anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and pain
reliever effects.

Apart from generalities such as inflammation or pain, CBC begins to be applied for
other problems. A new study published last year by the "Journal for Experimental
Dermatology" found that CBC may be good for treating acne. Why? It appears to
reduce sebum production from the sebaceous glands, while reducing the impact of
arachidonic acid on the skin and glands.

Due to a paucity of studies and data, it is not known exactly how CBC can control
pain. However, it is clear that it can, and will probably be used for this purpose in
future studies and treatments, starting with movement disorders characterized by
inflammation, such as arthritis.

Even more fascinating? CBC appears to promote neurogenesis, the growth of

nervous tissue. It may also be a key cannabinoid that delays or affects cell
degeneration in cases such as depression, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's
disease, and motor neuron disease.

Without a doubt, the properties of this cannabinoid are intriguing. Despite the fact
that few human studies have been carried out to support it, CBC is already
generating a lot of repercussion.

• CBC and neurogenesis. A study in mice conducted in 2013 suggests that CBC
can positively stimulate the growth of new cells.

• CBC may help reduce chronic stress and depression. A study from the University
of Mississippi found that rats treated with CBC performed better on stress tests.

• CBC is an anti-inflammatory. A 2010 study found that CBC alone initiates anti-
inflammatory benefits. However, it appears to work best when combined with THC
or CBD. The combination of this trio is more effective than the combination of only
the other two.

• This tiny cannabinoid could have a big impact on pain. A 2011 study found that
CBC stimulated pain relief networks in animals.

• CBC clearly has antibacterial properties, which have been identified at least 30
years ago. Some studies from the 1980s indicate that CBC could have a direct
impact on deadly bacteria, such as E.coli.
