In the book “Among the Hidden”, all third children are outlawed and if you are found

harboring
a third child, you and the child will be sentenced to life time jail, an extreme fine, or even
execution.
In the end of the book, he is given a fake ID and the name on it says “Lee Grant”, a baron.
There are multiple books in the series, though I haven’t read them yet, but I can get an idea of
what he’s
going to do, and if he’s going to be found out or not.

Luke says something near the end of book about how Jen wasn’t patient like Luke, that he could
possibly
do things at a slower pace, but get there eventually. I believe he’s talking about a giant rebellion,
or
retaliation against the government or law. Since Luke becomes a baron, and is considered NOT a
third
child, he doesn’t have the limitations like before. He could live a life of wealth, buy a computer
and
accomplish more of what Jen did. He could acquire things Jen, a third child, though a baron

couldn’t get.

He could get weapons, even get people who aren’t third children to retaliate, even their families.

As we see in the book, the population police are easily bribed. Getting “rats” or “spies” as

population police could get you intel and power from inside their own government. He could

probably acquire an army of just people who are just sick of this law, because later in the book,

we find out it didn’t need to exist, because the barons were the ones who had the surplus of food,

while the other half didn’t.

I believe Luke will survive and successfully overthrow the government. He might be found out

along the way, but he has another ally. Jen’s dad is more limited than he was now that he’s wired
with communication electronics to make sure he’s not doing anything fishy behind the

government’s back. He could probably still do his job as he does normally, just with small

limitations, he could even get Luke a new I.D to save him again. I think Luke will be just fine.
