1.1 BACKGROUND (INTRODUCTION)
Brand X is one of the (soon-to-be) leading e-commerce companies in Abu Dhabi,
UAE, that is in the business of selling accessories to both men and women. The
company intends to be the one-stop-shop for all accessories such as smartphone
covers, wallets, pens, notebooks, diaries, journals, and more, so customers can
freely browse and purchase them without having to leave the comfort of their
houses. To enable the same, this project talks about the development of an e-
commerce website that allows customers to do just that.

1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT


Shopping may be one of the preferred activities for millennials, but at the time of
writing the project charter, going outside one’s residence is not a safe endeavour. At
the time of the coronavirus pandemic, it is best to practice social and physical
distancing while staying inside one’s residence unless absolutely necessary. Hence,
the problem that Brand X attempts to solve is, how can millennials continue to shop
for accessories while staying inside their homes? The answer is, of course, via an e-
commerce website that specifically sells them.

1.3 PROJECT OBJECTIVE


The project objectives have been tabulated below.
Project Objectives (Purpose)
To build a website for Brand X.
To enable customers to browse Brand X's products online.
To allow customers to pay online for Brand X's products.

1.4 METHODOLOGY

The project plan includes a descriptive explanation of the various project phases
included as well as whatever is discussed in each part. The parts discussed in this
part are the initiation phase, planning phase, execution phase, monitoring and
controlling phase, and the closing phase.

1.5 PROJECT WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE (WBS)


The work breakdown structure for the project that’s about building an e-commerce
website for the accessories as previously mentioned. The work breakdown structure
talks about the various start and end DATES for each of the activities; with every
phase. SUCH AS initiation phase, the planning phase, the execution phase, the
monitoring and controlling phase, and the closing phase.

1.6 PROJECT GANTT CHART
The Gantt chart of a project is used to visualize the movement of the project as the
timeline or time passes by; in this case, it’s the number of weeks that is focused on.
