PERSONAL WORKSHOP

The following sentences need to be converted into indirect speech.


Example:
Tim: "She works in an office."
Tim said (that) she worked in an office.

1. Jessica: "I'm going to clean the room".


Jessica told me (that) she would clean the room.

2. Jeff: "They like the song".


Jeff said (that) they like the song.

3. Ian and Marvin: "We need new shoes".


Ian and Marvin commented (that) they needed new shoes. 4.

4. Kathy: "He knows how to speak Spanish".


Kathy told us (that) he knows how to speak Spanish.

5. Teacher: "Rachel has never been to Philadelphia".


The teacher said (that) Rachel has never been to Philadelphia.

6. Lucy: "The train didn't come on time."


Lucy told Gerry (that) the train wasn't on time.

7. Emma: "I'm sitting in the chair."


Emma said (that) she is sitting in the chair.

8. Nick: "Walter doesn't eat meat".


Nick told us (that) Walter doesn't eat meat.

9. Holly: "Abby and Nathan are going to Alaska".


Holly commented (that) Abby and Nathan are going to Alaska.
