Task 1:

1. What must be the reason why Maute, extremist group caused war in Marawi?

- It has been three years since the war between extremist group and military forces of the
Philippine. Number of deaths to both former and later had been listed and number of
families was abandoned. Houses and buildings are devastated as well as the local
community. The incident engraved trauma and fear to residents and hostages. Extremist
group Maute was long hiding in mountains and communities in Mindanao which is a threat
to our national security. When the government ordered an offensive to capture and arrest
the ISIL Leader This triggered the ISIL group and started war that caused the devastation in
marawi.

2. Do you think that they have the full right in fighting for the group’s principle?

- No, I do not think Maute group has the full right because they are still inside the Philippines
and they should obey what is lawful. They have been recruiting minors inside Mindanao to
join their group which is absurdly wrong.
