Letter to the Readers

Hello dearest readers!

Good day to all of us!

I hope you all doing okay these days because we are all graduating students of Gallanosa

National High School and hope all of us will graduate. Before we graduate, we go first with

struggles to achieve our goals as students. There are many assignments and projects that lie

ahead and need to be done as part of the school requirements that must be fulfilled.

It is very important to have this work immersion because we learn new things and apply what

we've learned on the strand we are studying. One of the importance of work immersion is that it

provides an opportunity to enhance the skills and knowledge of a student. It also helps for our

productivity, mingle, and how to make a business successful.

We're not just fulfilling our activity but we also meet other people that lead us on how they do

their job properly. They also teach us the things we need to learn not only in work but also in

fellowship and good things that we can bring until we work or build our own business. We learn

by working with the help of other people and we do this not just by listening to them just like we

do inside our classroom but we will listen to them to do what we need to do and help them lessen

their works. This activity of school helps us to put our learnings at school in real-life situations.

Acknowledgment

K-12 Program of the DepEd is very accommodating for those who will not

be pursuing college. Grade 12 is the level where it is the last stage of being a high school student

and can now stop and find a job in your country or even outside your country.

Under this program, the work immersion could give skills and knowledge applied when entering

a business someday.

We, Grade 12 students of Gallanosa National High School, are very grateful to

encounter this activity.

I thank my beloved guardian and mother for allowing me to perform these requirements even if it

is far from our house. They still support us and find a way to give us what we need for

transactions and our snacks or other expenses.

To our adviser Mrs. Maluo H. Ermino for giving us the support on what and where we can work

and experienced this activity or program and for guiding us always when we have concerns

regarding our work.

To our Work Immersion Coordinator which is also Ma’am Maluo Ermino for being our best

friend, we have concerns or questions about the schedule and other problems regarding it.

To the School Coordinator which is Ma’am Marilou Abias for letting this happen and also to our

Principal Mr. Danilo Terrobias.

We are very much thankful because we learned so much from this activity. We did not just enjoy

it but we also met other people outside the school. All our learnings here inside our classroom

are applied in our work immersion activity. We spend too much but an exchange of it is the

learnings that many said that no one can buy.

Day 1

March 23, 2021

Tuesday

This is the day where we, the students of TVL Track Agri Crops Production NC II will begin our

Work Immersion inside the campus together with our Coordinator which is Ma'am Malou Emino

who will be assisting us until we complete the given hours. I arrived there right at 7 a.m. and met

my classmates preparing for the first day of work. Ma’am Malou Ermino explained what to use,

what to do, and how to do it properly and carefully. She also showed us how to use agricultural

tools to avoid any accidents. After that, we start to get the brooms, trash bags and start cleaning

the area. Our first work on campus seemed like a natural daily routine. Despite it, heat and

tiredness made it difficult for us. But it was soothing to see that we finished our work neatly and

nothing terrible happened to us on our first day. I do sweeping the garbage while my other

classmates picking up the trash and put it in the proper container, and the others are pulling out

the weeds.

Day 2

April 6, 2021

Tuesday

The second day of our work immersion was just like how we ended the first day. Brooms,

shovels, and trash bags are those we used to clean the area. After cleaning the area, Ma'am

Maluo Ermino discussed what to do next for the other day of our immersion. We sign out our

daily time records and went home afterward.

7
Day 3

April 14, 2021

Wednesday

On the third day of our immersion, after doing the same as we did the day before, we have

already started decorating the surroundings of the plants and painted the stones to make them

more colorful and beautiful for those people who will visit the school.

Day 4

April 29, 2021

Thursday

On the fourth day of our work immersion, aside from sweeping and disposing of waste using the

same tools we used before, we also used bolo and other hand tools for cutting grass so as not to

be inhabited by snakes or anything dangerous for humans. We also dug a small hole to plant our

plants with a shovel, rake to remove and clean the soil where we are putting the vegetables.

Day 5

May 6, 2021

Thursday

8
On my fifth day, after we swept and picked up the scattered trash such as dry leaves, plastic

bottles, the plastic of gossip, and other litter in the workplace area, we disposed of it in a proper

bin. It helped in beautifying and comforting the environment.

Day 6

May 20, 2021

Thursday

Six-day, aside from the same routine we did every day of our work immersion, we also

experience how to drive the electric tractor. Mrs. Malou Ermino showed us how to use it that we

would operate ourselves. And after she explains everything, we were individually taught and

drive the electric tractor ourselves. At the same time, while waiting for the next, we also

gradually finished the remaining garbage to be swept and not to waste time for us to go home

early.

Day 7

May 27, 2021

Thursday

On the seventh day of our work immersion, even though we only went to our work immersion

for half a day due to the fact that our work immersion coordinator Mrs. Malou Ermino, has an

important meeting. We still did our best to beautify and clean the grain, we also learn how to run

the electric tractor properly so we can learn especially. After that, we also made soil fertilizer for

our vegetable crops to make them healthier and grow fast.

Work Immersion refers to the subject of the Senior High School Curriculum, which

involves hands-on experience or work simulation in which learners can apply their competencies

and acquired knowledge relevant to their track. It provides learnings with opportunities to

become familiar with the workplace, stimulate employment, and apply their competencies in

areas of specialization or applied subjects in actual work environments to prepare learners for all

curriculum exits.

Objectives of the Work Immersion:

 you will learn how to appreciate the importance and application of the principles and

theories learned in school;

 enhance your technical knowledge and skills;

 enrich your skills in communications and human relations; and

 Develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work.

Duration and Place of Work Immersion

The duration of work immersion is when you finished 80 hours working in the workplace. Work

Immersion should be equal to 10 days, but apparently, we only take eight (8) days since there are

important meetings that must be attended by our coordinator. Inside the campus, we are helping

each other to clean and keep the plants healthy using the agriculture tools we have. When it

comes to time, it is very important you come early because Mrs. Ermino doesn't accept any

reason why you're late because time is part of your responsibilities that must take sincerely.

Don’t be bossy, do your work personally. The place where I work is at San Pedro Irosin

Sorsogon which is inside the campus since we are in the middle of the pandemic. With the help

of our work immersion coordinator, Mrs. Ermino. The campus of Gallanosa National High

School has a large area especially in the middle where the agriculturist performs their works and

practices.
