DAILY WATER DEMAND CALCULATION

1. DESIGN CRITERIA AND ASSUMPTIONS.

Following are the design criteria considered for water demand

calculation based on the regulation and guideline.

As per the guideline , the water demand shall be as follows.

(Refer Appendix A).

a. Flat- 230Litre/day/ Capita.

Flow rate for the fixture should not exceed the following values.
a. Sink basin/ bib tap - 10 LPM ( Max).
b. Wash basin tap- 8 LPM ( Max).
c. Bath tap- 12 LPM( Max)
d. Shown tap - 10.LPM ( Max).

All area considered for calculation is based on the available latest

architectural drawings.

2. DAILY WATER DEMAND CALCULATIONS- BUILDING A.

Max. Daily
Building Total No.
Zone Assumptions Population Calculation Demand
Name Flats

230L/Capita/day.
01 Building A 2 capita / BD 36(3BD/Flat) 216 people 230x216 49,680

MAXIMUM TOTAL DAILY

49,680
WATER DEMAND

Maximum Total daily demand is approximately 49.68 m3/day for Building A.

3 day storage = 49.68 m3 x 3 = 149.04m3

2 day storage at ground level= 99.36 m3

1 day storage at Roof level. = 49.68m3.

3. DAILY WATER DEMAND CALCULATIONS- BUILDING B

230L/Capita/day.
01 Building B 2 capita / BD 28(3 BD/ flat) 168 people 230x168 38,640

MAXIMUM TOTAL DAILY

38,640
WATER DEMAND

Maximum Total daily demand is approximately 38.64 m3/day for Building A.

3 day storage = 49.68 m3 x 3 = 115.92m3

2 day storage at ground level= 77.28 m3

1 day storage at Roof level. = 38.64m3.
