"BLOODY SATURDAY" It was the first of the 22 major clashes fought between the National Revolutionary Army and the Japanese Imperial Army.
This event was just as
bloody as the First World War
Our picture represents the
pain, the abandonment and the struggle that took place during the War
After so many years,
people are still having an important impact with this photo.
Although this War was as
powerful as the First World War, there wasn't the same number of deaths. The picture called "Bloody Saturday" was published between September and October of 1937.
The picture became a
cultural icon demonstrating Japanese War atrocities in China.
The picture was taken
minutes later an air strike on civilians during the Shanghai Bombed.
However the photographer
didn't discover the identity or even the sex of the child
Working on this task was very interesting because we could learn about this event more in details and we understand what people had to suffer and live in that situation.
2. Which were your learnings?
The learnings about this work were that War in any dimension causes gigantic damage to the people who live it and the atrocities caused is something that should never happen again in history because many innocent lives and centuries of work are lost within the countries.
