1. On your spouse's recent move to the area, you accept a job, perhaps somewhatnaively, as a

company nurse in one of the Johnstown plants. After 2 weeks on the job, you became aware of

the work environment noted above.

As a nurse, I have the ability to care for the environment by performing a variety of

measures, such as disclosing environmental risks to my workplace, the federal and/or state

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Employers are required to have a

safe workplace under federal and state legislation. I may also recommend and assist in the

creation and implementation of a corporate wellbeing initiative.

2. You are a contractor who has traditionally used Johnstown's products, which meet

specifications. Johnstown is consistently the low bidder. Your customers are happy withthe

product.

Using Johnstown’s products where I find the quality, reliability, and cost of the products

to satisfy my customers, I believe I’d continue doing business with the company. But learning of

the company’s unethical practices, can put my company in a position of a dilemma. Especially,

if my customers began to complain. But if things are working in my company’s favor, I’d

continue business as usual. I do realize that if and when Johnstown begins to make

improvements, it may cause an increase in costs. But due to the fact that my customers are

continuously satisfied, I’d still continue working with Johnstown. But as a contractor, I’d

encourage the company to comply with the rules and regulations of OSHA and EPA.

3. You are Johnstown's banker.

As a banker of Johnstown, the company, I’d worry mostly about legal liabilities, fines and or

penalties brought on towards for not complying with OSHA and EPA regulations. Reiterating
the importance of following the laws of the land complying with human rights and pollutionpolicies. By

stopping production to mend broken pollution controls.

4. You are a supplier to Johnstown.

As a supplier, I’d threaten Johnstown that I’d discontinue doing business with it if it fails to

change its unethical practices. As a supplier it’s very important to ensure that I am in business with a

company that practices good ethics and follows OSHA and EPA regulations. If not, I feel it’s my duty as

supplier, to inform the appropriate parties of unethical behaviors such as: auditors or investigators to

confirm whether the company uses the products supplied to earn wealth ethically (DeLaurentis, 2009).
