Job Summary:

A sales manager oversees an organization’s sales policies and objectives and take initiatives. He/she sets
sales strategies (short term and long term) and he evaluates if the current sales plans and programs are
effective or not. He/she recommends enhancements in the products in order to improve the customer
satisfaction which give rise to sales potential.
A sales manager would be familiar with wide range of fields concepts and practices. A successful sales
manager understands what motivates customers to buy and knows how to tap in those needs and wants
in a very effective way.

Sales Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build relations with customers and put efforts in order to maintain those relations.
• Work with the organizations internal departments like production and marketing departments
to engage customers and audiences more deeply.
• Meet or exceed sales targets
• Gain deep knowledge of the business’ product offering and value proposition
• Follow the policies of the organization related to the sales department which can affect the
sales.
• Regularly pursue new business and sales opportunities.
• Reflect the company values at all cost and all times.
• Identify new emerging trends and market shifts while being well aware of the competition
status.

Answer:

I disagree with this statement. I believe that, for a company, having a proper and effective job structure,
creating job descriptions for each and every jobs that the company is offering, and conducting job
evaluation effectively and conducting job analysis, and above all, doing all of these on a consistent basis
is key to success and driving the organization forward. This will help in holding the employees
accountable for their action and the day to day work that they produce. Especially those employees that
become slow or inactive over time.
