giá là dạng câu hỏi dễ viết nhất. Nhưng đối

1. Cách viết phần introduction

Introduce the topic: Dựa vào câu của đề bài

và paraphrase lại câu đó.

Câu của đề bài là: In the developed world,

average life expectancy is increasing

Bạn có thể thay thế một số từ và cụm từ

trong phần mở bài bằng các từ và cụm từ
đồng nghĩa như sau:

In the developed world = in industrialised

nations
Average life expectancy is increasing = live
longer
It is true that people in industrialised
nations can expect to live longer than ever
before

Đề bài hỏi về problems cũng như solution

cho vấn đề trên, do đó bạn cần đề cập trước
rằng ở thân bài bạn sẽ giải quyết Problems
và Solutions.

Although there will undoubtedly be some

negative consequences of this trend,
societies can take steps to mitigate these
potential problems.

2. Cách viết đoạn body 1 – đưa ra

Problems

Đối với đọan thân bài đầu tiên, hãy đưa ra

những problems của vấn đề được nêu ra và
giải thích các vấn đề đó. Ở đây 2 vấn đề đó
là:

Khi tuổi thọ trung bình tăng, số lượng người

được hưởng chế độ lương hưu sẽ tăng. Kết
quả sẽ là chính phủ sẽ phải chi trả tiền lương
hưu cho những người già đồng thời chịu
những giảm sút trong tiền thuế, và có thể lực
lượng lao động trẻ sẽ phải bù vào phần thiếu
hụt đó.

Người người ta trở nên già hơn, họ thường

hay đối mặt với các vấn đề về sức khỏe. Khi
đó, chính phủ sẽ phải đầu tư nhiều hơn cho
dịch vụ chăm sóc sức khỏe cũng như những
người trẻ sẽ phải dành nhiều thời gian, tiền
bạc cho việc chăm sóc sức khỏe người già.

Topic Sentence

Câu topic sentence đóng vai trò như một câu

văn chỉ đường để người đọc biết bạn sẽ viết
gì trong đoạn văn này. Nó là câu tóm tắt nội
dung của đoạn. Cụ thể trong đoạn văn đầu
tiên, bạn sẽ chỉ ra những tác động tiêu cực
của vấn đề tăng tuổi thọ trung bình

Several related problems can be anticipated

when people live longer and the populations
of developed countries grow older.

Problem 1

General problem:

The prime issue is that there will obviously be

more people of retirement age who will be
eligible to receive a pension.

Vấn đề đầu tiên, bạn có thể sử dụng những

cụm từ như: The main/first/most obvious/
most important + issue/problem/matter is
that + clause

Explanation and result:

The proportion of younger, working adults will

be smaller, and governments will therefore
receive less money in taxes in relation to the
size of the population. In other words, the
increasing number of senior citizens will
mean a greater tax burden for working adults.

Paraphrase: Paraphrase là một trong những

vấn đề đáng quan tâm của Academic
Writing. Cách cách paraphrase này đã được
hướng dẫn trong bài 7 cách viết lại câu cùng
ý nghĩa nhé. Bạn không thể dùng một từ
“elderly people” từ đầu đến cuối được. Thay
vào đó, bạn có thể sử dụng: senior
citizens/members, people of retirement age,
hoặc nói về toàn thể: ageing population.
Những từ ngữ mang tính học thuật sẽ làm
bài viết trang trọng và đúng văn phong viết,
ví dụ như senior citizens, the number of…,
tax burden.

Linking words để đoạn văn đươc trình bày

logic và dễ theo dõi, có kết dính giữa các
phần, các đoạn: Moreover, Therefore, In
other words.

Problem 2

General problem:

Further pressures will include a rise in the

demand for healthcare

Further pressures là từ dùng để chuyển sang

ý thứ 2 của đoạn. Bạn có thể sử dụng các
cụm từ khác: Another problem/pressure |
Additional problem(s) is….

Explanation:

as a result of the fact that elderly people

are often subject to many diseases.

Result:

In this way, the government will have to invest

in healthcare and young adults will
increasingly have to look after their elderly
relatives..

Từ đó, bạn có đoạn văn đầu tiên của thân

bài:

3. Cách viết đoạn thân bài thứ 2 – đưa ra

Solutions.

Có 3 solutions được đưa ra có thể thấy rất

rõ từ đoạn văn:

Tăng tuổi về hưu trung bình từ 65 lên 70.

Khuyến khích nhập cư để tăng lượng
người lao động, những người sẽ đóng
thuế.
Sử dụng nguồn vốn từ các lĩnh vực khác.

There are several actions that could be

taken to eradicate the problems described

above. Firstly, a simple solution would be

to increase the retirement age for working
adults, perhaps from 65 to 70. Nowadays,
people of this age tend to be healthy enough
to continue a productive working life. A
second measure would be for governments
to encourage immigration in order to increase
the number of working adults who pay taxes.
Finally, money from national budgets will
need to be takenfrom other areas and spent
on vital healthcare, accommodation and
transport facilities for the rising numbers of
older citizens

4. Cách viết phần kết bài

Cũng không khác so với các dang bài khác,

phần kết bài trong bài essay bạn chỉ cần viết
trong 1 câu duy nhất để tóm tắt lại vấn đề và
cách giải quyết đã nêu ra trước đó.
