Jacket Water Heater Connections Update

Description Caterpillar Oil & Gas is announcing a change to the customer jacket water heater
connections on G3606 A4 and G3608 A4 engines.

The jacket water heater supply port is located at the engine jacket water pump
inlet. This applies to both straight and 90 degree inlet connections.

The jacket water heater return port will be located on the rear side cover on
G3606 and G3608 engines. The existing ported side cover on G3612 and G3616
engines is remaining the same.

Availability The jacket water heater supply port location is currently available on G3600 A4
engines.

The jacket water heater return port, located on the rear side cover, will be factory
installed on both G3606 A4 and G3608 A4 engines. This is planned to take effect
in late 2020.

Upon addition of the ported rear side cover to the G3606 and G3608, the
installation drawings will be updated.

General Comments Jacket Water (JW) Heater Supply: Supplies coolant from the engine to the jacket
water heater. The recommended JW heater supply port is listed as position A.

Jacket Water (JW) Heater Return: Returns heated coolant to the engine. The
recommended JW heater return port is listed as position B and position E.
