WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP SIDEWALK LOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Identified Sidewalk Gap Locations

Essential and Primary Sidewalk Gap Locations:

Hevel Elementary Gap - South side of 29 Mile road from West edge of Hevel Elementary to Jewel road.
Autumn Creek Gap - South side of 29 Mile road from the Autumn Creek frontage to Hevel Elementary.

Identified Gap Location Reasoning and Advantages:

Kids are walking to school on a dirt path through a field underneath power lines. Putting in these two
sidewalks will allow kids that live in Autumn Creek to go directly to the high school safely. Putting in the two
sidewalk segments will also allow for a straight shot from the front of the subdivision to the high school.

UNIDENTIFIED Sidewalk Gap Locations

Written Location:

Continuation of the Sidewalk from Laurel Woods subdivision at 27 Mile Road to Romeo High School

Site Photographs/ Map of the Proposed Sidewalk Location:

Sidewalk Location Reasoning and Advantages:

There are multiple reasons why these two sidewalks are needed. Having these two segments will allow for
an uninterrupted bike ride or walk from Autumn Hills subdivision to Romeo High School. This will be much
safer than the present option to get from Autumn Hills to the high school. The sidewalks will also seamlessly
connect to the Orchard Trail at the intersection of 29-mile road and Van Dyke.

Not Just Another Sidewalk Idea:

The sidewalk will contain exercise activity markers for example, a person has to do 10 jumping jacks at a
certain location, after they do that, they can scan a QR code located at that spot, and it will log their progress
in a fun “app”.
