Interview Questions.

1. Oxygen Editor (Proprietary tools)/ Exchanger Xml (open source tool)

Ans: This tool is used to transform xml file into txt file. This is place where we write the xslt code, do
validation and properly test our xslt before attaching in EIB. You can choose any one of the tools.

2. Soap UI – It is used to test Workday delivered web service.

Ans: It is external tool which is used to test webservice.

3 What is xpath?
Ans: XPath uses path expressions to navigate in XML documents and also XPath is syntax for
defining parts of an XML document
4 What is RAAS/Custom Webservice?
Ans: When we create custom report as type of advance and we enable as a web service, then
Custom report become as a RAAS (Report as a service). When Custom Report become RASS,
then this data can be publish/ send to external system.

3. What is difference between filter and sub filter?

Ans: Filter is used for filtering primary business object and Sub Filter is used for filtering for related
business object

4. Can we use multiple data source in Report?

Ans: No.

5. What is calculated fields and can u name it some functions.

Note: For calc field, they will ask Single instance and evaluate expression, how do you create and what
scenario you go far. Please be prepare for this answer.

Ans: I have already the screen shot for same, please refer same.

6. What is expresso Reports.

Ans: You cannot perform action on expresso report and as of now it used by workday company for their
internal development.

8. What is the difference between I load and EIB.

Ans: When you need to load small volume of data in tenant in ad-hoc basis or day to today activities,
then you go for EIB.

If you need to load for high volume of data and that is initial conversion of data from External system to
workday. Apart from this all report, eib and any integration you can migrate from either
implementation/sandbox to production by using I load.
Solution is another tool which is used to migrate report, eib and any integration from one tenant to
another tenant.

10. Have worked on any external system. If yes than what are the external systems you have used.
ADP/Avon Hewitt/People fluent

10: how can you create connector or payroll? Please brief all the steps how you create.

Ans: Refer the documentation which I have provided you.

11. Can u generate multiple file in Connector

Ans: Yes. For example if you need to create 3 file separately, then create 3 DT and separately write 3 xslt
for each file and then each xslt you attach in individual DT. Than finally these 3 DT you attach to
Connector by business process.

12. Why we should go for Workday Studio.

1. Complex Integration
2. Complex Validation
3. Call Multiple custom report at same time
4. Generate multiple file at same time
5. When you need to developed any inbound integration which has to be schedule daily basis.
6. You can incorporate java code in workday studio.

13. Brief Introduction:

Start with your name and number of experience in IT Industry.

I started my carrier with SAP, later on I moved to Cloud Technology like Workday.

Last 2 years am engaged with Workday Project and in workday I have worked on Implementation and
support project.

On Implementation side I have worked on Core HR Data, Payroll, Benefit system either it is inbound
integration or Outbound Integration

Typically for Outbound Integration I used custom report with EIB, connector and PICOF (Payroll Interface
Common Output File). Along with this I worked on Calculated Field and xslt.

And for Inbound Integration, I have used EIB Template and few cases Workday studio.

Payroll Integration I have integrated Workday system for ADP and Avon Hewitt.

Benefit Integration I have integrated Workday system for Hartford and Selman
