I. Title: Environment Month Celebration

II. Introduction:

The Philippines has designated the month of June as Environment Month pursuant to
Presidential Proclamation No. 237. In line with this, the Department of Education has
issued Regional Memorandum No. 0422, s. 2021 for schools to observe this month-long
celebration with activities geared towards fostering public awareness on the urgency of
preserving the environment and natural resources.
This June 2021 Environment Month Celebration with the theme, “Sama-Samang
Pagkilos, Sama-Samang Paghilom, Ikaw, Ako, Tayo ang Kalikasan” our school will be
conducting activities that will contribute to the protection, enhancement and development
of our environment.

III. Objectives:

1. Teachers and other stakeholders will have an increased awareness on the importance
of promoting local vegetable planting;
2. The school will be able to provide opportunities for enhancing skills on vegetable
gardening; and
3. Teachers and other stakeholders will appreciate the health and economic benefits of
growing own vegetables.

IV. Rationale:

The school is a powerful agent of influence on teachers and community in promoting

and patronizing local vegetable products. Hence, ginger seedlings will be provided to the
teaching and non-teaching personnel and they will be instructed to plant the said
seedlings on the plots and containers specially allotted for them. Their products will be
for school consumption and if possible, extra seedlings can be given to parents who are
interested to grow ginger plants at home.
With regard to IEC materials, relevant posters will be attached on the school bulletin
board and leaflets will be provided to parents and other stakeholders at the guard post.
They will serve as reminders for them to contribute to the protection of our environment.
