2 Scope
This Method of Procedure (MOP) provides standalone EM Installer, which is
independent to the one available on the node.
Disclaimer: This MOP is developed by Ericsson for Ericsson’s use in
installation, configuration and implementation of Ericsson OSS products. This
is presented to the customer for reference and evidence of Ericsson’s internal
care and governance overseeing all work activities. This references Ericsson
organizations, functions and processes and are not intended to be used the
customer’s personnel without appropriate adoptions to the equivalent
organization, functions and processes. Additionally, the work represents
Intellectual Property belonging to Ericsson and only used pursuant to the
contracts between Ericsson and the customer.

5 Procedure

5.1 EM Installation

Activity

1. The reason for this Installer Package

This is an easy-to-use solution for the stand-alone client computer use case which can be
distributed and easily installed on each client computer that will be used for accessing the nodes
through the Element management tools.

This can be used as an alternative if the solution is not included in the EM installers from the SW
package on the node.

2. What's the content?

The package consists of several installation wizards for Windows/Linux/Solaris, and README files.

Note:
Executable file with suffix name exe such as em_install.exe is installation wizard for Windows
system
Executable file em_install_lin.bin is installation wizard for Linux system.
Executable file em_install_sol.bin is installation wizard for Solaris system.

3. How to use it?

a. Uncompress zip file to local directory.

b. Choose the installation package according to the node type.
c. Choose executable file according to the client computer operating system and run it.
d. Follow wizard to install EM Launcher.
e. Each installation package has its own README file to refer to.

Example:
Instruction installation for MGW node
Open the "NodeManager_CXP9041024_R1B" folder.
Open "README.txt" and get the instruction.
For Windows:
- Go to the folder where the installer is downloaded.
- Double-click on nm_install.exe.
