Grading terminology

Accepted
The part has been tested and accepted according to specification

Rejected
The part has been tested and rejected according to specification

Undetermined
The system was not capable of making a decision based on the images or data

ADR: NoTest (Automatic decision - Computer) Examples:

1. Part position in image wrong

2. Image is too dark/bright
3. Wrong recipe applied

Review Station: Undetermined (Manual decision – Human) Examples:

1. Reviewer is not sure  UX20 Workflow: ??

FGUI – Electronics: A reviewer can see something in the X-Ray Image, but not enough to make a final
decision. The undetermined decision then triggers one or more of the following options:

1. A further process, for example visual inspection of the part, to make the final decision
2. A retest of the part with the same inspection settings/parameters
3. A retest of the part with different inspection settings/parameters. For example, an added
projection, longer integration times etc.

Pipe Inspection: A reviewer can see something (discontinuity) in the X-Ray Image, but not enough to
make a final decision. The location of the discontinuity is noted/logged and this position is then
inspected with ultra sound in a following process.

Common ground (FGUI, Pipe Inspection): With the use of X-Ray the discontinuity (defect) cannot be
classified, another NDT-Process/method is required.

Empty
No result is available.

1. Part was not evaluated by ADR

2. Part was not evaluated by Review Station
3. Part was not passed on for evaluation yet
Repair
The part as is, is a reject, but can be repaired so that it fulfills specification and could potentially
become an accepted part.

After the repair the part must be inspected at the X-Ray System again.

A Repair grading should be accompanied by an error description or repair instructions.

Classification/Levels
A level accompanying the overall result in the metadata (Accepted, Rejected)

Enables a further sorting of parts depending on level
