Progress Report
Purpose of Report
Within my machining shop class, students were given a pamphlet full of projects to do. I started
work on this pamphlet in the beginning of my spring quarter and will finish by the end of spring
quarter. I was unfortunately out for 2 weeks and have fallen behind, so I will need to know how
much more I need to accomplish. This is my third pamphlet, yet my first report; I have made
shopwork journals, however they did not include what projects I have yet to finish.
Task list:
1.) Cut Material/Stock 5.) Choice Project (Student)
2.) 3-by-1 Block (Mill Project) 6.) Choice Project (Teacher)
3.) Morse Taper (2) (Lathe Project) 7.) Pipe Threads (External)
4.) Surface Grind Parallels 8.) Pipe Threads (Internal)

Problems Encountered
Between mid-April and early-May, I was out sick for COVID symptoms delaying my
progress and academia.
While I did finish my 3-by-1 block rather early, I was waiting for a spot on a lathe so that
I could begin my taper project.
Last quarter I have yet to finish milling my parallels, so I then needed to mill those.
Work Remaining
May/June
Student and Teacher choice projects need to be completed.
Machine internal and external pipe threads.
Conclusion
I have developed quick problem solving while I am machining, as well as improved my
skills. I was able to get my assigned projects done rather quickly and efficiently, however
due to my sick leave I was set behind my other classmates. There were many other
delays I experienced, most of which sat me in a waiting period.
